domestic benley part 2 <3

They were walking hand-in-hand towards the entrance of Grey-Sloan Memorial.
After a while, Miranda had gotten used to the fact that people will make accusations about the Chief's favoritism no matter how they act in the hospital. So, there they were, together, showing that they were husband and wife, but of course, she told him she wasn't showing any special treatment once they entered the building.
The wind blew, and something ended up in her eye. She closed her eyes in instinct and opened the right one, as some dust hurt the left. "Ow!"
They immediately stopped walking. "Baby, you okay?" Ben stood in front of her, letting go of her hand. He looked at her eye, concerned.
She nodded, "I got something in my eye."
He chuuckled, and pulled out a handkerchief, to wipe the small tears coming out of her eye. "When I tell you to, open 'em, alright?"
Nodding again, she held her hands on his shoulders, and opened her eye when he told her to.
Ben blew gently at her face as a few tears let itself go down her cheek. After a while, the dust was gone, and Miranda blinked the irritation away.
"Thank you, baby." She kissed him sweetly, and interlocked her fingers with his again.
"Of course." He smiled, and she felt butterflies in her stomach. She'd never get enough of seeing his smile.
As they stepped inside the hospital, he kissed her cheek and squeezed her hand. "I'll see you later, alright, Chief?"
She smiled at him and set off in the direction of her office, "Okay. Goodluck."

"Ugh, I feel awful." Miranda groaned. She was in her genome lab, and Ben had brought some dinner.
It was their routine now. As long as one of them were both available and didn't have any surgery, they'd eat and talk before they got back into their jobs.
Ben had brought her some takeout and some soup. He knew she had a cold and wanted to make her feel better. He frowned and put his hand on her forehead. "Love, you're... you're heating up."
Miranda frowned as a building ache in her temples prevented her from moving too much. She groaned again, and chewed some chicken. "I can't be sick."
Ben chuckled. "Woman, you have got to stop working for a while. Come on, I'll bring you home."
"It's just a fever, Benjamin." She laughed, but then it got interrupted with a small cough.
"See? And you're going to complain to me later that your body aches, and then you'd want to stay in bed." Ben stared her down. "And you're going to miss all the action for a lot longer. Come on, Miranda."
She rolled her eyes. "Fine."
As soon as they got home, she crashed into bed and fell asleep.
Ben chuckled and tucked her in.
In the morning, Miranda felt worse. "Ugh, Benjamin?"
Her hand reached to his side of the bed, but she only found cold sheets. She frowned and tried to move, but her head was spinning, and she whined. "Ben?"
The door opened. "Hey, sorry, I made some soup."
She smiled, but her head protested. "I feel terrible."
"Your fever spiked overnight. I washed you a little with some towels, and you woke up, but I guess you don't remember." Ben held a tray in his hands. There were some bread, some soup and some aspirin. He placed it in front of her.
Miranda sniffled. Her nose was running. "Oh, I have some tissue here, just a sec."
Ben ran to the bathroom, and handed her the tissue roll. "Aren't you supposed to be on call?"
He shrugged and helped her sit up. She groaned. "I was, but I'm not letting you stay home alone."
"I have surgeries. I'm the Chief!" She raised her voice and instantly regretted it.
"Uh-uh, you're sick, and I'm taking care of you," he scooped the soup, blew it until he deemed it wouldn't burn, and held it to her mouth, his other hand open below in case it spilled. "Now open up, woman."
She rolled her eyes, but she was hungry, and her body could barely move from the soreness it was feeling. She opened her mouth and almost moaned at the taste.
"You like that?"
Miranda nodded softly and sniffled. "Oh, God, yes."
"That's what I like to hear."
After they finished, Miranda laid on the bed once again. Her eyelids were drooping to a close once Ben returned from washing the dishes.
"Cuddle," she murmured as she felt the bed dip as he went under the covers.
He smiled, and hugged her from behind.
When Miranda's fever and cold disappeared, it really was no surprise that Ben was now the one out with the flu.
Of course, Miranda took care of him too.

They were in bed together, with Miranda typing away on her laptop. She had a major, groundbreaking surgery tomorrow, and she had to get prepared.
Ben was just beside her, scrolling through his phone, with a leg entangled with hers. He moved, trying to scratch an itch at his back. He groaned, trying to reach it.
Miranda watched him for a while in amusement, before touching his bare shoulder. "Where?"
He sighed, "Down, please. Just a little left. There, uh right there."
She smiled. As he nodded and thanked her, Ben leaned in and kissed her cheek. "Thanks, baby."

"Hey, Miranda." Ben sighed and kissed her temple while she was working.
She hummed in response. "How's your surgery?"
"It went well. Jackson taught me Sloan's technique." He shrugged and sat on the couch.
Miranda smiled. "That's great, Dr. Warren. You are going to become an excellent surgeon, I'm sure of it."
Ben returned her smile. "I know that, Dr. Bailey, but I'm glad you do too." He yawned. "But I am daggone tired. I can fall asleep right here."
She laughed. Then looked up from work as silence replied back to her. Her laugh turned into a smile as her gaze settled on her husband, who was already dozing off on the couch.
Taking a blanket, Miranda moved to Ben and draped it over him. She caressed his cheek gently and kissed his temple.
God, she was so in love with him. After a few years of being married, he still managed to make her fall in love over and over again, everyday.
Ben stirred and grabbed her hand. She tried to get it off her so she could work, but he ended up pulling her beside him.
Miranda smiled and succumbed to him. She nuzzled his neck and closed her eyes. Now that she thought about it, as his warmth settled in her bones, she was kinda tired too.
Maybe she could sleep for a while.
