Ben fiddled with his tie. His hands never shook when he was nervous, instead, his hands were eerily still. It helped in his medical career, and when he made the switch to become a surgeon. Now, as a surgical firefighter, his steady hands and his calm demeanor soothed his patients and fellow firefighters.

His hands moved gracefully as it tied the knot against his chest. He'd been to weddings, obviously, but he'd never officiated one. It was his friends' wedding, sure, and it was a small gathering, barely 50 people. But he couldn't help but be extremely anxious.

Tying the knot expertly up his neck, he let out a shaky breath. He looked at himself in the mirror, making sure that his dress shirt was properly tucked in his pants.

Ben glanced at his suit jacket, which was displayed in front of his closet. He stared at it for about a minute, wondering if he should wear it now, until his wife burst out of the bathroom, steam coming out behind her.

"Hey, why aren't you dressed?" She asked. She's wearing nothing but a towel, and for a moment, he was distracted. His eyes scanned her body, and he licked his lips. Her legs were on show for him, her smooth brown skin tantalizing. She hit him with a pillow from their bed. "Eyes up, Benjamin," she giggled.

He grinned, coming close to her. His hands went around her waist, and he leaned down, pressing a passionate kiss on her plump lips. She moaned against him, her hands circling his neck. "Hi," he whispered.

"Hi." She smiled widely and pecked his lips again. She pulled away with a wink and she grabbed her clothes off the closet. She was going to wear a form-fitting dress that accentuated her curves. The fabric was royal blue with golden streaks all over it. The moment he saw it, he immediately knew it would be stunning on her.

When she came back out, he couldn't help but gape at her. It was like seeing her for the first time again. She looked at him, biting her lip. "Stop looking at me like that."

"Like what?" He asked distractedly as he awed at her beauty.

"Like I'm the love of your life." She said plainly, her eyebrow raised.

Ben stepped forward, tracing her curves as his hands moved over her dress. "But I look at you like that because you are."

"Really?" She smiled, her hands caressing his head.

"Really." He looked at her wide, chocolate brown eyes. Love and affection shone through, and he instantly fell in love with her for the millionth time.

"Well, I love you too." Her perfume wafted to his nose, and he inhaled deeply. His head leaned down to her neck and he peppered her skin with open-mouthed kisses. "Ben, we have to go," she moaned, gripping his shoulders.

"Do we?" He murmured against her skin.

Miranda gasped lightly as his teeth scraped her collarbone. "Yes," she said breathlessly. "You're the one officiating."

He pouted, and pulled away. "What if I don't want to go?"

She looked at him as if he'd lost his mind. "Then you'd be destroying Maya and Carina's wedding." Ben stared at her, trying to pull off the puppy dog eyes that she used on him all the time. "That's not gonna work on me." He kept at it, making sure to bore right into her eyes. She began to mimic his pout. "Stop," she whined.

"It's working, isn't it?" He winked and wore a victorious smile.

She narrowed her eyes at him, knowing very well that she'd lost their mini battle. "No."

"It definitely is." He laughed and she joined him. Their voices melded well together. Her head rested on his shoulder as their laughter faded into wide smiles.

"Come on, we're going to be late." Miranda spoke sternly, but made no move to leave his embrace.

Ben kissed the top of her head. "I'm nervous," he whispered into her hair.

Miranda raised her head to look at him. "You are? Why?"

He shrugged. "They're our friends, you know. They're family. I don't want to mess it up."

"You won't," she assured him. "You'll do great."

"Have I ever told you about that time I impersonated a priest?"

She chuckled. "Yes. Yes, you did."

"It was horrible. That woman almost killed the guy." He frowned at the memory.

Miranda pursed her lips. "You won't be sharing any gross negligence secrets. You're officiating a wedding."

"Exactly. It's supposed to be the best day of their lives!" Ben's eyebrows furrowed.

"And they're going to be focused on each other, not on you."

His thumb caressed her waist. "I'm still nervous."

She put her hand up to his cheek, her thumb moving over the skin below his eye. "I was too, when I did Callie and Arizona's. It was an experience that I'd never do again, but it was fun. Worse case scenario, they end up divorced."

"Miranda," he groaned. "I don't want to think about divorce. Especially with our friends' luck." He was right though; it seemed like all the couples in the hospital, except them, broke up eventually. It was rather depressing.

She shrugged then laughed. "It'll be fine. You'll be fine. Just ask for the vows, then pronounce them wife and wife. I assure you, they won't care about you."

"Ouch." He put his hand on his chest in mock pain.

She rolled her eyes, then kissed him softly. "And hey, if divorce is what you're worried about, at least Callie and Arizona remarried."

Ben rolled his eyes, watching his wife smile at her own humor. "You're lucky I love you." She giggled.

"Do you feel better?" Their foreheads touched and he nodded. "Good. I'll be taking lots and lots of pictures of my husband, so I need you to look like you know what you're doing." She winked at him.

He scoffed as he let her go, watching her hips sway as she left their bedroom. He grabbed his suit jacket. The sleeves went over his arms perfectly, and it was snug against his torso. He pulled it over his stomach, putting the buttons together.

Adjusting the jacket over his shoulders, he looked at the mirror and gave himself a smile. He brushed off an invisible lint off his shoulder and left the room.
