Ben was panicking.

He'd found the most perfect gift ever for Miranda's birthday. And he'd made sure that he ordered it long enough from the actual date, so he'd have time to prepare.

But nooo, the delivery company kept saying it got delayed.

Everyday, for the past 2 months, they've been saying it was delayed. And there's only a week left, and Miranda would be turning 40.

Ben was on the phone with the management. "No, it has to arrive this week! I will pay any amount of money, I just need you to get this done!"

"Yes, sir. We'll track your package and try to get it as soon as possible."

"It's been months. It's just a necklace, it  doesn't have to be that hard to send it through." He spat.

"We're very sorry, sir. But we're looking into it at this moment."

"You better."

The call ended and he threw his phone at the couch. He wanted to punch something. Miranda would undeniably love the necklace he picked. The charm was a locket, and when she opened it, one side had an engraving of their names, and the date of their wedding. On the other, was a picture taken by Callie, with Tuck, Miranda and him. It was perfect.

He groaned, and tears pricked at his eyes. He sat and pulled his head down on his lap. "Damn it!"

"Uh, a 'hello' would be nice." Miranda's voice made him look up. He smiled softly. She made him feel a little bit better, but nothing was going to get his mood up until he had the necklace in his possession.

"Hello, my beautiful wife," he stood, and grabbed her waist, staring at her chocolate brown eyes. He looked down at her neck, and imagined what the locket would look like rested against her collarbone. He sighed. He kissed her cheek and smiled again, now, a little less enthusiastic. He really needed to get that necklace.

Miranda frowned and put her hand up to his cheek. "What's wrong?"

He shook his head and smiled a little wider. By the look of his wife's face, he didn't assure her. "It's nothing, love."

Ben leaned in and kissed her lips sweetly. His smile got better. "I'm fine," he reassured her. In his mind, he thinks maybe he wasn't just trying to assure her, but himself as well.

She sighed, not fully okay with it, but letting it pass. "Okay. Did you pick up Tuck?"

He nodded. "Yeah, but I brought him to Nico's after school. Project, or somethin'."

3 days left before Miranda's birthday. The necklace was not there yet. They said the package has been shipped to LA, but it's still a long way to go.

He sighed, and called his friend. "Avery."

"Warren, hey." The unusually cheery voice of Jackson went through the phone.

Ben rubbed his forehead worryingly as he paced around his bedroom. "Is there any way you have control over some…" he waved his hand, distracted enough to be unaware he wasn't being seen. "Some shipping, I dunno, company?"

Jackson laughed. "Dude, what? Why?"

He sighed again. "It's for Miranda's birthday. I ordered this… necklace," he lowered his voice, trying to hear if his wife was home yet. "It's still not here. I ordered it months ago."
