MEETING PEOPLE IS NEVER AN ACCIDENT. Enola would soon learn that the hard way. Someone cannot walk in and out of her life without reason. Lessons and the growth that she experiences are never spontaneous. It is always meant to be. There is a higher purpose which she will never know until she reaches it.

There is a plan for Enola. She knew that. Therefore, she knew she would have to find it if she wanted to conquer it. Think about it, in a world consisting of billions of people, each capable of teaching her something. Why did her path cross with this person? Because she needed this particular lesson at this point in her life. She thought about it deeply, only then would she stop treating her growth as an accident and start appreciating it as a beautiful journey meant just for herself.

Enola never thought that meeting Klaus in that confessional would change the course of history. She never thought that she would be just as intrigued by him as he was her. Though she supposed that life had a funny way of telling you things. It was a completely normal day in Mystic Falls and he was far away from here. She thought that his sudden departure would make her feel better, safer. But it only proved to form an anxious knot in her gut. Especially after she exposed herself as the girl from the confessional.

"Are you sure you are okay?" Caroline questioned. "I could come pick you up before school."

"I'm fine, Care." Enola reassured. "I am going to be training with Elena and Alaric this morning."

"Training for what exactly?" Caroline questioned in genuine confusion.

"Vampire hunting," Enola answered. "Elena wants to learn how to protect herself, I want to blow off steam."

"Fine," Caroline reluctantly sighed. "Just call me if anything changes."

They exchanged soft I love yous before hanging up the phone. Enola looked at the canvas with a small frown. She hadn't even noticed what she was painting until now. Or rather who she was painting. She painted people all of the time. But this was different. Klaus should not be on her canvas right now. But he was. And he looked cocky even when he was just a stupid painting. Thankfully she didn't have to stare at him for long seeing as her phone began to ring again. She sighed, answering the device without checking the caller i.d.

"Caroline, I already told you—"

"Hello, little monster." Enola froze at the familiar voice. Only it wasn't her friend who had spoken. It was the one person that she dread hearing from most. The one person that had ruined her life.
