BILL:
• Bill and you were the best of friends for as long as you could remember
• but then you guys locked lips under the 7th grade bleachers when hiding from Bowers
• Bill asked you to be his girl the next day
• mans needed some time to calm down from the high of the kiss
• it was just a peck but it still had his heart racing and his hands shaking
• ANYWAYS
• you guys = unstoppable
• you met the losers with him, you fought Bowers' gang with him, then you battled a freaking child eating CLOWN with him
• basically you did everything with him
• until you didn't
• lately all Bill ever seemed to have time for was Beverly
• you didn't even think about it when it first started happening
• you had scheduled a study date with him on a random tuesday afternoon only to have him rush in his room, grab his bag, and quickly mutter that Beverly needed help moving furniture before her dad got home
• you guys were all friends, you understood how Beverly's dad was so you saw no issue in Bill helping out
• SAW no issue, because the very next week Bill was eager to ditch you after you had just approached him at his locker wanting to hang out
• you thought it was weird, especially since he was in such a rush he apparently didn't realize he never shut his locker door before taking off, saying something about Beverly needing help with her geometry test
• did she even take geometry?
• he didn't even spare you a glance as he disappeared through the front doors, presumably to meet Beverly
• was she gonna ride in the back of his bicycle too?
• Stanley did not miss the way you smacked Bill's locker door shut
• or the way you winced as you gingerly rubbed your palm afterwards
• so naturally, Stan had come to help, love him
• "Did you try talking to him?"
• "Oh my gosh Stan you're a genius."
• "Thanks I try."
• so you followed Stan's advice...
• by showing up at Beverly's home to confront Bill
• let's just say you thought he was a secret actor the way he lit up when he saw you after he opened the door
• "Y-Y/n! What's u-up?"
• "Save it, Billiam! If you want to be with Beverly that's fine, I understand, but going behind my back? Save me the dignity and just break up with me!"
• so much for having a nice chat
• Bill was taken aback, not able to sputter any words out as Beverly came up behind him and poked her head over his shoulder
• "Hey Bill who was- Y/n? What are you doing here? Did you need something?"
• "Yeah, the truth! Bev, I thought we were friends, you should have at least told me so I wouldn't embarrass myself for two weeks."
• "I've never been more confused in my life. What are you talking about?"
• "You and Bill! I know you guys are together!"
• Beverly remained quiet for a second, before bursting out into laughter, much to your and Bill's horror
• she doubled over, latching onto the frame of the door to steady herself
• "Now you're laughing at me?? Wow. This is great you guys. I'll just go home."
• you turned to leave but was pulled back in quite roughly by Bill, who now looked determined
• "Y/n I am not cheating on you. With Beverly, or anyone." Bill spoke confidently, his words wavering a bit, but still firm
• your mouth fell open in shock
• Bill, not stuttering? this has to be a dream
• "B-but, you kept ditching me for Beverly...I don't understand-"
• look who's stuttering now WHAT IS HAPPENING
• "Y/n...B-Beverly and I were m-meeting so that she could he-help me with with a plan for our anniversary."
• is it really that close? man you should invest in a pocket sized calendar, oh i guess that's a phone
• "Whatdidhesayyyy-"
• "Y/n, Bill tried to avoid being alone with you because he knew he would spill. He hates lying to you and you read him so easily, he just wanted it to be the best surprise he could give you."
• okay now you feel like a jerk
• "Oh my god...I'm so sorry for assuming either of you would do such a thing! I guess my own insecurities clouded my judgment. I trust the both of you with my life, I hope you can forgive me."
• "Don't sweat it, I would have thought the same thing. At least you didn't try and fight us."
• "Oh trust me Bev, I wanted to."
• Beverly rolled her eyes then looked between the two of you and decided to bid her goodbyes, saying she had something "important" to do
• you both really knew she just wanted you two to talk alone
• once she left you heard Bill let out a long sigh, as if he had been holding his breath this entire time
• at least you weren't the only one
• "Bill...do you still...love me..?"
• your voice trailed off, like you were afraid of the question as you played with your hands
• deep down you knew the answer already, but your insecurities needed to hear him say it, so you asked anyway
• Bill felt his eyes widen for a split second, taken by surprise once more
• "Y-Y/n, of course I d-do..." Bill cleared his throat, pausing for a moment as if in deep thought, before continuing, "I...love you so much. M-more than words can describe. I. Love. You."

• you immediately wrapped your arms around him, finally feeling your muscles relax as his words sunk in
• he loves you! and he said it without stuttering, TWICE! A whole new record!!
• "About that surprise..."
• "I-I'm not t-t-telling you anything else."

• "Y-Y/n..."
• "Ugh fine."
