Taehyung was nervous. he had been nervous the whole day. when he brushed his teeth multiple times in a row, sprayed another round of cologne on his neck, when he checked his image in the mirror for the 5th time, when he went out for dinner with the younger and even right now in the waiting room of the cinema, he was still nervous.

it was Jungkook's birthday. Taehyung had promised him a birthday he'd actually enjoy. even though the bar was pretty low, the older still felt under pressure.

"are you okay? you seem tensed..."

Jungkook was munching happily on the popcorn and nachos the older had bought for them and took a sip from his cherry cola. he was also wearing one of Taehyung's hoodies. he had borrowed it so often that the older just gifted it to him. it looked better on him anyway.

"i'm ... fine."

they sat in the very last row of seats, right in the middle. the movie was a rom-com Taehyung had found in the program yesterday and since the younger loved everything hopelessly romantic, the decision was easy. there weren't a lot of people, just four or five more couples - one of them sent the boys a weirded out look. Jungkook didn't seem to notice but the older glared right back.

the lights turned low and Taehyung's heart began racing. not that his heartbeat had been at a normal pace before but now it was definitely going a 100 miles per hour. he couldn't concentrate at all. every few minutes he took a glance in Jungkook's direction. the younger on the other hand, was completely absorbed by the movie.

they were halfway through the movie when Taehyung started to shift uncomfortably in his seat. he had to do it. he couldn't wait any longer. so he took a last glance at the younger before leaning in to his ear.

"do you want your second gift?"

Jungkook's eyes widened when he realized how close the older was. his hot breath on his neck. he gulped, eyes still glued on the screen in front of him. he nodded.

so Taehyung reached out his hand, took a hold of the younger's jaw and gently turned his head. big doe eyes, blushy cheeks. his heart was aching - he wasn't allowed to mess this up.

he leaned a little closer, only leaving a few inches between them. mouthed a silent 'can i kiss you?', eyes fixated on Jungkook's lips. the younger nodded cutely.

there they were again. the butterflies in his stomach. they unfolded their wings and spread across his whole body until they reached his fingertips. leaving him all tingling and hot. Jungkook tasted like cherry. sweet and innocent. his lips, soft and warm. Taehyung couldn't get enough.

the other couple crossed his mind, their disgusted eyes burning holes in his skin. but the older pushed the memory aside, put his whole focus on the boy in front of him. on the kiss he had been eager for these past days. he was kissing his best friend. okay, more like making out with him. it all felt perfect.
