the moment his friends had the idea to do secret santa this christmas, Taehyung secretly hoped he would get Jungkook. the older loved surprising him and giving him gifts. watching as his nose scrunched up in excitement and his head tipped back when he was laughing, made Taehyung feel all type of things.

so when he read his boyfriends name on the scrambled paper he wanted to do a little happy dance right then and there. he obviously held back, he didn't want to seem suspicious. while the other's were still picking scraps of paper, the boy was already making a mental checklist for the things that he needed to make the best present.

now they were in the skiing lodge, spread out on the old sofa, wrapped up in cozy blankets. the fireplace kept them warm, while some frank sinatra was playing on a vinyl record player. Jungkook leaned his back against his boyfriend's chest as the older slipped his arms around his waist. they were both tired from the drive but still excited to see all the presents. Taehyung buried his nose in the younger's hair, a little surprised as he smelled the sweet scent of coconut. so Jungkook had been stealing his shampoo...

"okay i'll start."

the younger jumped up and out of Taehyung's grasp, to give his present to Yoongi. a bag full with all types of alcohol. it didn't take long for one of the bottles to be opened and passed around. after Jungkook sank back into the older's arms, the game of secret santa continued.

Yoongi's present was for Hoseok (a pair of sneakers he had mentioned once), Hoseok gave his gift to Namjoon (a bunch of books, Taehyung was envious of how much the older could read), Namjoon's gift was for Jimin (cute fuzzy socks and a sweater Jimin will absolutely rock even though it was supposed to be one of those ugly christmas ones) and lastly Jimin's present was for Taehyung (it was a coat that reminded him of Howl from 'Howl's moving castle'). smiling mischievously Jimin turned to an embarrassed Jungkook, to mention that it was not only a present for the older.

when Taehyung got up to get the last gift, it was already clear who would receive it - Jungkook, who was desperately trying to hide his red cheeks (he was totally blaming it on the hot air from the fireplace). the older handed a box to him, wrapped up in brown paper. the time it took his boyfriend to open it felt awfully long. Taehyung bit the inside of his cheek. the present was - a book.

"open it."

Jungkook eyes went wide as he did. he first noticed all the pictures. photos of Taehyung and himself that were taken over the past months they had spent together. the second thing he noticed, were the poems and song lyrics written in the older's unique but pretty handwriting. every picture had it's own story attached to it.

"do you like it?"

"Taehyung, i love it."

Jungkook smiled brightly up to him. his nose scrunched up just like the older had imagined it. his own heart was beating so loud he was scared everyone could hear it. he gulped. he had to say it. those words that haven't left his mind since weeks. he couldn't hold back anymore. he -

"i love you."

"i love you too."
