After 15 minutes of sitting in a comfortable silence while watching the water, Josh breaks it.
Josh: You want to get some food?
I look up at him and grin. I jump up.
Me: Will I ever say no to food? Lets go!
He lets out a chuckle before standing up. He's walking to slow so I grab his hands and try to drag him up the dock. I tried but he's to tall and i'm not strong enough to drag him. He just chuckles while i'm pouting and trying to get him to walk faster. He finally decides to walk normal with me and not drag his feet. He put his arm around my shoulder and started walking with me. I'm 5'5 and he's 6'0 so theres a big height difference. But I don't mind, I liked that he towered over me. It makes me feel safe, Josh makes me feel safe and I think thats what you need to start a relationship. We got to the car and I got in the passengers seat as Josh gets in the drivers seat. We play music and just laugh about because Josh doesn't know the lyrics. He really makes me happy and I could see my self dating him. He then pulled into the cafe where I work and we get out of the car. Josh puts his arm around my shoulder again and we walk in. We walk to the counter and Josh looks at me.
Josh: You get a table and I'll get us some food and coffee?
I nod and find a table by the window. I take the table and sit in one of the seats. I look out of the window, watching the cars pass by on the busy road causing me to get lost in thoughts. I really want to be with Josh, but i'm still scared. I don't want to break up of something stupid and i don't want to get hurt. I know getting hurt is a part of life, but I try to avoid it as much as I can. Relationships being one of the things I avoid, but I don't want to avoid it with Josh. It's really weird but I kinda wanna... fall in love with him? No, that's crazy. But I really do want to be with him and that can go where ever it wants to go. Oh fuck it! Maybe if he asks me on a date or what ever, I can tell him I don't want to take things slow anymore. God, I change my mind too fast! Josh then comes back and snaps me out of my thoughts.
Josh: You ok Sam?
*I nod and smile*
Me: Yeah, why?
*He shrugs his shoulders*
Josh: You either zoned out or your really focused on the licence plate game.
*We both laugh and Josh hands me a caramel iced coffee with triple caramel because like I said, I like my coffees to be sugared down and he hands me a donut. I take it out of the bag and smile even more once I realize that it's a rainbow sprinkle donut. Yes, i'm one of those child teenagers. Josh chuckles and shakes his head.*
Josh: I have never seen a 17 year old soon to be 18 year old be so excited to have a sprinkle donut!
*As I bite the donut, I mumble:*
Me: Shut up!
*He laughs*
Josh: Gimme a bite!
I nod and rip a piece of the donut and try to place it in his mouth. Yes, i'm that girl who rips her food instead of biting it. He keeps moving his head so he gets sprinkles and frosting all over his face causing me to giggle*
Me: Stop moving Josh! You're getting it all over your face!
*He laughs and finally stops moving. I shove the piece of the donut in his mouth, while giggling at his appearance. He looks like a kid. I grab a napkin.*
Me: K wait, let me clean your face!
He laughs and leans over the table. I reach out and hold his chin. I wipe his mouth not even noticing he is staring at me. I finish and sit back in my chair giggling. Then, Nessa walks over. Josh told me Nessa is his ex thingy, like they kinda dated but not really? If that makes any sense? She glares at me and is all over Josh. He looks so uncomfortable while I try to hold in my life.
Nessa: Why didn't you answer my text last night Joshy?
She started playing with his hair and he got even more uncomfortable.
Josh: I-I uh
He looks at me with an 'Help me' look and and I could't help but to laugh. Nessa snapped her head towards me and glared at me again.
Nessa: Whats so funny?
I make eye contact with Josh and he burst's out laughing, causing me to laugh harder. Nessa looks at us in disbelief and then walks away angry. Me and Josh just continue to laugh harder.
