Jaemin stepped into Taeyong's office and came to a halt in the middle of the room. Clearing his throat loudly, Taeyong quickly looked up in surprise.

He offered the younger one a quick smile. "Jaemin!" he exclaimed. He was happy to see him. "Good that you are here!"

Ripping his eyes off the boy, he focused back on his computer screen.
"Do you mind waiting a moment?" he asked politely as if he was leaving Jaemin a choice.

Nodding, the boy sat down on one of the comfy armchairs inside the room. He let his eyes run over the little interior decorations when his gaze got stuck on the pictures on the wall.

Different from Taeyong's room at home, the office hadn't much in it. The little personalization that came from those pictures was just enough to not make the room feel completely lifeless.

Yet all those framed memories were not just something meant to keep Taeyong's spirits up. For him, it was more a reminder of sorts. A reminder of the people that stood beside him, the ones he cherished and fought for.

A reminder that he couldn't be careless and had to work hard.

To Jaemin, however, they just looked like pretty pictures.

As the typing got slower and eventually ended with one last, loud smash on the enter button, Taeyong finally got up. He stretched his limbs, took a deep breath.

"I actually wanted to talk to you so I'm glad you came," he said.

"About what?" Jaemin asked curiously.

Plopping down on the chair across Jaemin's, Taeyong's eyes gained a subtle, curious glimmer. He leaned forward, elbows pressed into his thighs.

"Working with Jie," he said. "This was the first time she worked with someone other than Shotaro and Sungchan. Moreover, with people she doesn't know too well."

Hearing that came as a surprise. Even though she joined only recently, she still had been around for years before that.

"The first time?"

Taeyong nodded quickly. "If possible, I would like her to work with the other boys too. I just need to figure out if she is ready for that first."

"Did you talk to her already?" Jaemin questioned.

"Yeah, she came by the next morning to talk about it. She does that every time," he explained. He looked up, dug in his memory to remember what exactly she said. "She mentioned that you guys work together really well - she kept praising all of you. But she was also worried."

Jaemin frowned. The job went well, there was nothing to worry about.
"Why?"

Taeyong inhaled sharply through gritted teeth. "She said that it wasn't a problem because this job wasn't particularly dangerous. But because you don't seem to trust her at all, she worried you wouldn't be ready to rely on her if things got rough."

The older looked to his right, out of the window and onto the bright and lively day. He sighed.

"Both of you have massive trust issues though, maybe the combination just wasn't the best."

Jaemin gasped. "Me? I don't have trust issues."

Taeyong nodded. "Sure you don't." He gave the boy a fake smile. "Anyway, about my question?"

After giving him an odd look, Jaemin replied earnestly. He said that she did exactly what she was supposed to. He noted that she acted well and that she was patient, even when waiting for him to come back.
