Taeyong gently pushed the keys into the lock.

"It's still early, so please don't be too loud. The others are still sleeping," he told the WayV boys that were waiting impatiently for him to turn the keys, open the door and let them in.

However, his hesitation was on purpose. He just wanted to hear their agreement first.

So he waited.

And waited.

"You guys need to say 'okay'," he pointed out.

Winwin hummed. "Okay."

Satisfied, Taeyong finally opened the door and-

And watched as Yangyang and Hendery pushed past everyone and stormed towards the guest room right away. Although it was still early, they didn't care much. Jie never slept long anyway.

They hurried through the halls, then quickly pushed the door to the room op--

"Oh," Yangyang exhaled quietly in surprise. He and Hendery stopped dead in their tracks when they got a glimpse of the scene before them.

Last night, Jaemin had stayed awake until Jie fell asleep so he could turn off the laptop and put it aside.

But even after that, he stayed there, next to her. He didn't necessarily plan on falling asleep but he happened to close his eyes for a little too long, causing him to drift off into a peaceful slumber.

A few hours passed, Jaemin and Jie were lying side by side, sleeping calmly.

A few more hours passed before Jaemin woke up from Jie's mumbles and cries as she was tossing and turning in bed.

A little sleepy, his eyes got stuck on the single tear running down her cheek, on the frown on her forehead, on the way she was gripping the blanket tightly.

He could have woken her up, of course, but he just wanted her to rest a little longer - her body really needed it after all.

So he moved closer to her, wrapped an arm around her and pulled her in, letting her head rest on his shoulder while he stroked her hair with his other hand.

He spoke in a soft murmur, uttering anything comforting and reassuring he could think of. And, eventually, Jie calmed down.

Her sobbing stopped, her frown eased, she let go of the blanket and held onto his shirt instead. She seemed okay. And seeing that, Jaemin closed his eyes again.

That wasn't long ago.

Even now, Jie's eyelashes still glistened from the tears that had made them wet and were now reflecting the sunlight.

And Jaemin was still somewhat awake, running his hand up and down her head comfortingly. He was just a little too far gone to actually notice the two boys that were standing there, staring at them.

"Well..." Hendery mumbled before he and Yangyang simultaneously took a step backwards and closed the door.

Now standing in front of the closed door, mouth agape, they turned to look at each other. Eyes wide, they laughed awkwardly.

"We should pretend we never saw that," Yangyang noted and Hendery was quick to agree.

Quick to agree before he suggested that, "Or we can annoy her with it later."

"We could," Yangyang agreed before they both turned away and walked back towards the kitchen.

Just as they were doing that, they met the rest of the boys that had also made their way towards the guest room. The two youngest quickly slung their arms around the older ones' shoulders and forced them to turn around and walk back to the kitchen.
