Maya's POV

Thursday, December 31st

10:28 am

My hand brushed against the doorknob and I grabbed it, opening the bedroom door.

I walked out into the hallway and rubbed my sleepy eyes. I heard giggles and recognized it as Casey's.

Upon entering the kitchen, I that Ben was standing in front of Casey, kissing her neck. She leaned against the kitchen counter with a giant smile on her face. She giggled again.

Ben was already dressed in a button down and shorts while Casey was still in pjs like me.

I groaned and opened the fridge.

They both pulled apart and looked back at me.

"Didn't see you there. Sorry." Ben said. His face was cherry red and Casey simply smiled at him.

"No, don't stop being in love for my sake," I said dryly.

I pulled out the carton of orange juice and closed the door behind me.

"Babe, what's wrong?" She said coming over to my side.

I poured the OJ into a wine glass and capped the carton. Pam said the number one rule in this house was to always have every drink in a wine glass. It apparently is an essential of being a bad bitch.

"I'm fine," I said with a sigh. "I just would like to not feel anything right now," I admitted.

I could barely sleep the last two days.

We'd spent the first day walking along the pier and the second relaxing indoors. Casey bought the camera I got her for Christmas and we'd already taken so many pictures so far. Gen had been to the house once since we got here so we all went out and spent the day together.

I was doing fine until I woke up this morning and my mind wouldn't shut off.

"You wanna get high?" She said with a wide smile on her face. "You know...take an edible with me or something?"

I chuckled lightly and squeezed her shoulder. "Hell no. And the day I say yes, you know something must be wrong."

Drugs always freaked me out. That loss of control wasn't something I wanted.

She sighed. "It was worth a try." She whispered.

I took a sip of the OJ and bit my bottom lip.

"You could just call him."

Casey and I snapped our heads to the left and Ben stood at the sink drinking water from a cup.

He lowered his cup and looked at me. "Don't give him that power over you where you can't even think straight. Tell him how you feel. You deserve that release of stress."
