"I have so many questions," Casey whined.
She was furiously typing on her computer and took another sip of her red bull.
It was sunny today so we were both sitting outside at a picnic table doing homework.
"Maybe it's a mistake?" I said.
"Yeah, no kidding. I don't get C's in art courses." She mumbled. " Math, Science, History, yes, I might get a C. But Art? Hell no."
She was writing an email to her art history professor because she got a C on her last paper and it dropped her grade.
Midterms were last week and I was already starting to feel the burnout. Seven more weeks of hell and then some freedom.
I was still trying to finish my papers for British Lit, Sociology, and on top of that, edit Will's paper before we met today.
We had to change our meeting times 3 times this week because of his conflicting practice times.
I couldn't wait to also be done with that. I was not the best a juggling all of this work at once and I wouldn't have to worry about anyone getting into my business.
Will was right about the rumor. In the past two days, everyone was focused on the Fall Festival that's coming in a few days. It was a yearly tradition where our school has huge tents set up outside with games and activities.
I was only going because Casey signed us both up to be in charge of a booth.
I'd rather not go though. Just the thought of 66,000 students all in one area, being really loud, gives me anxiety.
"What are you going to say?" Ben said looking up from his textbook.
He was sitting on the opposite side of the table next to Casey and I noticed that he was leaning in close to look at her laptop.
"I'm gonna give her a piece of my mind," Casey whispered.
I looked back down at the paper I had been trying to write for the past 20 minutes.
At the top of the Google document, it said my name and the date but nothing else.
"Hi." We all turned our attention to Will who sat down on the bench next to me.
I noticed he was wearing a baseball cap and it was low enough to cover his eyes.
"What you doing here?" I said quietly looking around us.
No one seemed to notice him and he just smiled at me.
"What I can't come and say hi?"
"You literally can't take a hint," I said jokingly.
He ignored me and extended his hand out to Ben. "Hi, I'm Will."
"Ben." He said shaking his hand.
Casey waved at him. "Nice to finally meet you. I'm Casey."
