The Midnight Gang

Chapter 5

As the sun rose from the east at 6:30, Alison and Katrina got up and started cooking breakfast for everybody as they do every day since we first arrived at our home base. As 7 o'clock rolled around the three sets of twins got up and wandered their way to the kitchen. Eventually, Zoie woke up and dragged herself to the kitchen at 7:15 which then left Scarlett still asleep.

A chorus of 'good mornings' echoed through the kitchen when Zoie waked in.

"Do you think one of us should wake her?" Mel said sitting down at the breakfast bar.

"We should probably let her sleep; she did have a rough day yesterday." Zoie replied sleepily.

"But you know how she gets when we let her sleep for to long. Ali, your closest to her so she won't hit you if you wake her up. So can you go and wake her up please?" Mel turned to face Ali who was in the middle of eating her pancakes.

Alison's heart did a little flutter of happiness when Mel addressed her but with her mouth still filled with food Ali nodded her head in reply and disappeared up the stairs.

Walking into their shared room, Ali slowly walked towards Scarlett's bed and slowly wakes her up.

"Scar, Scar. Wake up."

Scarlett mumbled something along the lines of '5 more minutes' but Alison still tried to wake her up.

"Scar, I need to tell you something."

As soon as those words left her mouth Scarlett was sitting up, rubbing the sleep out of her obsidian-coloured eyes, and tying her short, curly black hair into a ponytail. "I'm listening."

Alison took a long deep breath before speaking barely above a whisper, 

"I'm gay..."

With a blink of an eye Scarlett was hugging the pink haired girl as she whispered, "Thank you for telling me."

Alison smiled while happy tears streamed down her face as she hugged Scarlett back.

Finally, Scarlett released Ali from the hug, "Come on, I want breakfast. And I'm also gay." And with that Scarlett left a shocked Alison in the bedroom as she went down for breakfast.
