Chapter 8

As dinner rolled around, food had been cooked and put on the table and everybody sat down to eat.

"Has anyone seen Scarlett?"

"Not since this afternoon. I think she got a text message then said she had to go but she'll be back later." Kai replied.

"Maybe it's a secret girlfriend." Adrian said with a laugh in the air.

"It's not a secret girlfriend, that's for sure. I know Scarlett and she wouldn't hide that from me." Alison stated.

"Okay, so, where is she?" Mel asked, obviously worried for the girls' safety.

"I don't know." Kai said, feeling a bit guilty for not questioning Scarlett before she left.

With Scarlett

"You're not going to win this time."

"Want to test me on that? Samuel, Lilly, Poppy you ready?"

"We're ready."

"Let's dance."

That's when hands connected to faces, feet connected to guts swords clashed against swords and daggers pieced clothes and skin.

The fight went on like this for what seemed like hours before damage actually happened.

A girl called Poppy who Scarlett, Samuel an Lilly were friends with screamed out in pain as a dagger hit her shoulder making her fall to the ground.

Scarlett quickly looked over to her and quickly killed the guys she was fighting out of anger.

"Sam! Get her out of here! Take my phone and follow it back to my base! Tell them you know me and ask them to help Poppy! I'll be right behind you! Now go!"

"Promise me you'll follow me! I can't lose you, not again!"

"I promise! Now go!"

And with that, Sam took Scarlett's phone, picked up Poppy and ran.

After Scarlett was sure they had gotten far enough she screamed out in anger and attacked the rest of the enemies she was fighting with the help of the other fighter, Lilly.

Scarlett fought of the last one attacking her and looked over at Lilly and a heart-breaking scream left her throat. A sword pierced through Lilly's back and emerged from the other side. Scarlett through her dagger at the last attacker before running over to Lilly with tears streaming down her face mixing with the blood and dirt already covering her.

"Lilly, please stay with me, I can't lose you to. Please stay with me. Please..."

"Scarlett, it's okay, I'll be at peace now. Don't worry about me. Go and find Sam and Poppy and your other team. Leave me here. Its time for me to go now." And with her last breath she smiled. The last smile she'll ever do. Her eyes looked up at the dark sky, stars shining reflecting in the eyes that will never blink again.

Scarlett screamed and cried, never wanting to let go of her best friend's lifeless body. She slowly stood up and took the sword out of her back. She picked up the rest of the weapons littered around the battlefield and placed them into her bag. Once that was done, she walked back over to Lilly, the friend she had known since she first joined the training school and picked her limp body and walked back to her bass.

With Samuel

He ran, the fasted he's ever ran before and finally found Scarlett's bass. Be banged on the door and a boy opened it.

"Please help me. I know Scarlett-Rose Black and she told me you could help me. Please she's been stabbed, and I don't know how deep it is."

"Of course. This way."

He led me in and let me to a room with to younger girls in there, about 15 and they looked like twins.

One said, "Quick put her on here and then you need to leave so we can help her."

I placed her on the table and then was pushed out of the room and the door closed. The boy who opened the door was waiting for me.

"Where's Scarlett?"

"She should be on her way back now. She should be here soon."

"Where did she go?"

"I got a message that my bass was going to be attacked so I messaged her to help and then Poppy got hurt and I don't know if Lily is okay or Scarlett but I'm so sorry if she is hurt, I just knew that we wouldn't be able to fight them off by ourselves."

"It's okay, are you hurt?"

"No. I got lucky."

"Okay, come on let's go and look for Scarlett and the other girl."

"Okay."

With Lilly and Scarlett

I slowly walked back to my bass with Lilly's limp body in my arms. I'm sure I had cuts and bruises all over me, but I couldn't tell. Everything was numb. I couldn't feel anything besides Lilly's body in my arms.

As I finally made it to bass, I saw Samuel run out of the house and to me.

"Scarlett? What's wrong?"
My voice broke, "I couldn't save her Sam. She's gone. I couldn't help her." Tears started falling down my face again as I sobbed. Sam walked up to me and guided me to the house.
