Percy Jackson x Reader Insert [Slow Updates]

Chapter 5

I think I just broke her nose.

Nancy stared up at me in shock. I don't think she ever thought I'd retaliate. Or if she did, she didn't think I'd do that. Mrs. Dodds materialized outta nowhere and immediately went to check on Nancy. Once she saw that her nose was broken, she looked at me in absolute anger. I thought her glare was bad before, but now it's 10x worse. I swallowed nervously scared at what she had planned.

Once some kind of medical person came, she harshly grabbed my arm, which seems to be a trend today, and dragged me away from everyone. Percy started to protest, but was stopped by Grover after I gave him a look to get him to stop. She started to drag me up the stairs. I looked back towards Grover in fear and hoped he would go tell Chiron. Mrs. Dodds dragged me deeper into the museum finally stopping at the Greek and Roman section.

She released my arm and crossed hers growling at me. She looked like she wanted to pulverize me which she probably did.

"You've been giving us problems, honey," she started.

I didn't answer surprised she wasn't changing her dialogue from the books. Why is it the same? I'm not Percy.

"Did you really think you would get away with it?" She asked after I didn't say anything.

"I didn't do anything," I tried to explain.

She obviously didn't believe me as she hissed and said, "We are not fools, Y/n L/n. It was only a matter of time before we found you out. Confess, and you will suffer less pain."

"I didn't take it," I tried again, but she lunged at me.

I dodged just barely getting out of the way before her claws slashed the empty air that I was occupying moments before. I saw Chiron roll through the door in the corner of my eye. He took one look at my predicament and instantly threw what appeared to be a ballpoint pen. Rip tide. Me, being me, attempted to catch it, but failed. It clattered to the floor in front of my feet.

I quickly snatched it off the floor and uncapped it. It changed into a bronze sword. Mrs. Dodds attempted to attack me again, but I slashed towards her with the sword. Once it touched her, she exploded into a yellow powder, being vaporized on the spot. She left behind the smell of sulfur and a dying screech. I looked around still kind of shaken up to see Percy staring at me in shock. Chiron and Grover were nowhere to be seen.

"What just happened?" Percy questioned me.

Not knowing what to say, I just cap Riptide and push past him. I quickly walked back to the front of the museum. Percy kept asking me questions that I never answered. It had started to rain and I could see Grover had made a makeshift umbrella by putting a map of the museum over his head. I couldn't see Nancy anywhere so she was probably still getting her nose looked at.

I hesitantly walked up to Chiron who was sitting under a red umbrella reading a book. I refused to make eye contact with him and practically threw the pen at him. Before he could say anything, I walked away with Percy still trailing behind me. Then, by a stroke of luck, I saw Nancy who now had a bandage on her nose standing by her little entourage. I gave Percy a halfhearted excuse as to why he should go to Grover and headed over to Nancy.

Once I got over to her, she gave me a glare and grumbled, "I hope Mrs. Kerr whipped your butt."

I sighed and looked at her with fake tears in my eyes. Hopefully she can't tell the difference between real and fake tears. She looked a bit taken back. If I don't want to get in too much trouble, I'll just use what I have and hopefully it works.

"I'm sorry," I sniffed. "For a second there, I didn't know who you were and I got scared cause you were being rough. Mrs. Kerr explained everything to me."

Her eyes softened and she gave me a small smile. "It's fine. I shouldn't have been so rough."

"I understand if you're mad at me." I said trying to get more of her sympathy.

"I'm not mad. It's not your fault your head is all messed up after the accident," she said and gave me a hug.

Wait, what accident. I was about to ask, but sadly Chiron announced that it was time to finish the field trip. I tried my best to avoid Percy and his questions. It's a good thing I had made up with Nancy because every time he tried to come talk to me Nancy & co. glared at him until Grover pulled him away. On the bus ride back to Yancy, I sat in the window seat next to Nancy like before.

Once we got back to Yancy, we went to our dorm rooms. Nancy forced my clothes off of me to check my arms for bruises once again her nice self. When she found some where Mrs. Dodds had grabbed me, she gave me a sad look probably believing she did left the marks and apologized. I didn't correct her. Mostly because I knew she wouldn't believe me. It's not like Mrs. Dodds exists anyway.

We got changed into our pjs since we were kinda tired out from the field trip today. She fell asleep before me and with her nose her breathing sounded like a wood chipper. Guess that's my fault anyway. I'm glad I didn't get into to much trouble. I listened to her breathing for what seemed like eternity before slipping to sleep myself with only one question on my mind.

What did she mean by accident?
