An: Thank you for reading my book 😊 Sorry for taking so long to update 😓When I woke up, Nancy was standing over me just waiting for me to wake up. I responded by screeching like a banshee and falling off the top of the bunk bed. I fell with a loud thump. I groaned because that shiz hurt. Nancy quickly scampered off the ladder and frantically looked over me to make sure I was ok. She apologized and explained to me that she was about to wake me when I woke up.
I warily accepted her apology still not sure as to why she was being so nice to me. I hastily got dressed in my uniform still having problems with tying my tie. Nancy giggled and fixed my horribly tied tie. Once finished, she dragged me along to class. We got to class and we started to go to our seats when Mrs. Dodds called me over to her desk to have a little chat.
"Who are you and what are you doing in my class?" Mrs. Dodds asked in a quiet menacing voice.
"What?" I responded confused.
"I don't know who you are, but I know you weren't in my class until yesterday and I want to know why."
"Um...I'm not sure myself," I told her truthfully.
She looked like she wanted to argue, but was cut off by the bell. I was quite literally saved by the bell. She motioned for me to take my seat. Not wanting to rock the boat, I quickly power walked to my seat earning a concerned look from both Nancy and Percy. I refused to look at either at them electing to look at my desk just like last time. I noticed Mrs. Dodds give me one last disapproving glance before starting class.
She explains some last minute rules before herding us to the bus like we were sheep. I deciding on wether to sit with Percy or Nancy when Mrs. Dodds harshly grabbed my arm and whispered that I was going to sit next to her. Nancy looked at me expectingly. I gave her a little shrug and sat next to the demon teacher. Once seated, she waited until the bus was moving and loud before speaking to me again.
"I know you're lying," she accused. "Why are you really here?"
"I already told you. I don't know."
"Stop lying," she hissed.
"I'm not," I desperately told her hoping she'd believe me.
She glared at me with her glowing eyes and after a minute of her thinking she had an "a ha" moment. I immediately got a bad feeling.
"You stole the lightning bolt didn't you?" She questioned with a triumphant look on her face.
I didn't answer her question because I was to surprised too which only seemed to confirm her suspicions.
"So I'm right," she stated with a smirk. "So where are you hiding it? And why are you here now?"
Unsure of what to do, I bolt out of the seat and go to sit with Nancy. Halfway there the bus turned a corner which sent me flying into someone's lap.
"Sorry," I apologize and look up to see the one and only Percy Jackson.
"It's fine," he smiles and helps me sit up. "What did Mrs. Dodds want to talk about?"
I sneak a look at Mrs. Dodds to see her glowing eyes glaring at me. I visibly paled which Percy and Grover noticed.
"Are you ok?" Grover asked somewhat concerned.
I open my mouth to say something, but get cut off by Nancy.
"Y/n, what are you doing sitting with those losers?" She asked snobbishly throwing torn pieces of a peanut butter sandwich at Grover.
"Oh I was just-" I started to explain.
"It doesn't matter just get over here," she interrupted.
I stand up, but when the bus hits a bump in the road it caused me to fall on Percy and Grover again.
"Sorry again," I say sheepishly.
"It's fine again," Percy said while kindly helping me sit up again. "Why do you hang out with her?"
I shrugged and said, "Do I really have a choice?"
"Yes actually you do," Percy stated. "You can hang out with us."
"Really?" I asked.
Before he could answer, Nancy grabbed my arm and yanked me out of the seat. "I told you to get over here."
"Hey," Percy started to protest while I was being dragged away.
"Shut up. She's never hung out with you losers before and she's not about to start now," Nancy rudely said pushing me into the window seat.
I was about to protest, but when Mrs. Dodds sent a terrifying glare my direction the words died down in my throat. Grover noticed my pale face and my scared eyes. He looked in the direction I was looking and saw Mrs. Dodds giving me a death glare. When Mrs. Dodds realized she was being watched, she turned back around.
I sat in silence for the rest of the bus ride opting to stare out the window. Nancy must've noticed I wasn't in the greatest of moods because she apologized for dragging me and pushing me into the seat. I ignored her not wanting to make an even bigger scene. I mentally sighed in relief when we finally made it to Metropolitan Museum of Fine Arts.
