Chapter 15

It's been ten days since she didn't see Elmo, he was on his taping for A Soldier's Heart in Mt. Sierra Madre, kailangan nilang mag advance ng taping dahil sa mga promotion shows nila sa iba't-ibang probinsya ng bansa. 

She stayed up late night waiting for his call or messages because she missed him so badly. 

She was aware that the location of Elmo's taping has no signal at all but somehow she's hoping he will find his ways to contact her. 

And as the day passed her suspicion that she's pregnant  is growing. All the symptoms that she read about pregnancy and her friends were talking about, she was experiencing it day by day at mas lalo niyang nami-miss ang binata. 

She came down to have her brunch when her mother noticed her. 

" Julie Anne, anong oras kana ba natulog kagabi?" 

Her mother asked, not so used of her waking up very late. 

"Po? Hmm… Past ten po. Bakit po Ma?" 

She answered, kinabahan at may pagtataka. 

" Alas dyes? Bakit parang ayaw mo pang lumabas sa kwarto mo, abah… Anong oras na oh, alas onse ng umaga. These past few days late kana palaging nagigising." 

"Ang sarap po matulog, Ma. Hahaha" 

"Whatever Julie Anne… May problema ba kayo ni Kim?" 

"Po? Wala naman po, Ma."

"Matulog ka ng maaga. Alam mo namang bawal sayo ang magpuyat. Nagkikita pa ba kayo ni Kim? Parang lately, hindi kana nagpapaalam na magkikita kayo."

She sensed something was wrong with her daughter, trying to get an answer to the questions in her mind. 

" Ahmm ano kasi Ma, hmm busy yun. Dami ko ring ginagawa. "

She said and continued eating the food on the table. 

And her attention was on the food that Julie had on her plate. 

" Talaga ba?" 

"Ha? Bakit Ma?" 

Her mother looked back at her and the food. 

" Ma, I'm famished." 

She answered, smiling but deep inside sobra siyang kinabahan. 

"Halata nga, since when did you---" 

"Hahaha. Ma, you can't blame me. Ang sarap-sarap po ng baked salmons and buttered shrimps, ugh."

Trying to convinced her mother na tumaas ang kilay. 

" Mag cardio ka nga, nananaba kana oh. Late kana kasi nagigising. Pasalamat ka halos late afternoon na mga appointments mo."

" Sa seksi kong to, Ma? Hahaha" 

And she stood up, and posed with both hands on her waist and walked. 

" Oh, saan ka pupunta? House rules, Julie Anne. Hugasan mo ang pinagkainan mo, yan late na kasing nagising." 

"I know, Ma. I'm going to check the fridge pa nga if may desserts."

"Desserts? And since when did you--- may gelato ice cream pa yata, cake and cup cakes."

"Anong flavor ng ice cream, Ma? Wala lang, parang gusto ko lang kumain ng ice cream bigla." 

" Triple belgian chocolates. Alam mo namang mahilig si Jac nun… Meron pa din namang matcha and pistachio flavor. Aalis nga pala kami ng Papa mo, groceries. May ipa bibili ka?"
