Blushing Annoys Me!

I have noticed my days have begun to speed up and fly by the longer I sit and do nothing. I still haven’t explained my dreams to Akatsuki but he hasn’t really pulled me up on it either. I don’t even know if I should tell him at all. I would feel like I’m preaching and complaining or just making myself look weaker than I already am.

It’s the end of October now. Christmas is only around the corner and even though December 25th is not a public holiday in Japan, I still like to celebrate it. It’s much busier at this time of the year too. Lots of tourists come into Japan ready for the festivals and snow coming up. I hear all the kids in my class chatter about what their parents have bought them or are going to buy and what they will be doing on break at the start of next month.

I don’t really like receiving presents. I get awkward and don’t know how to react. Of course I thank the person for the present but after I don’t know if I should smile brightly and be excited or just accept it and treasure it silently.

I’m sitting on the patio out the back and sipping on a hot cup of milk and chocolate. I wear a scarf and a light shirt with long sleeves then a pair of jeans to keep my legs warm. The days grow colder as winter slowly seeps in and makes Japan cold. Snow will soon fall and Japan will turn into white land in most parts. I love winter. Summer gets too hot and I get sunburnt easily. I love winter because no matter how cold it gets you can always rug up and put the heater on. In summer you can only strip until it gets inappropriate.

A soft breeze blows through my hair as I feel two hands rub my shoulders.

“Even though it’s a little chilly, the day is perfect.” Akatsuki speaks as he stands behind the chair I am sitting in. His soft hands are placed on my shoulders as I smile softly feeling comforted by his words and touch.

“It is but I like it, the cooler weather that is.” I put my cup down on the little glass table beside me and tilt my head up to look at Akatsuki. He leans down and gently kisses my lips.

A light blush spreads across my cheeks as he pulls away smiling at me. Akatsuki is always ever so gentle and makes me feel like I actually exist but only exist in his world which is what I want. Over the last month I have slowly opened up and now he, Hiroshi and Violet are the only ones in my world. It’s a small world but that’s all I need.

“It’s Sunday so what would you like to do today?” His smile grows wider and he runs his long slender fingers through my soft brown hair. I close my eyes liking the gentle feeling on my scalp.

“I’m not sure. You pick” I mumble loud enough for him to hear as I smile a little too. I can surely say that since I’ve been living with Akatsuki I have been much happier. After school the other day I took Akatsuki around to Hiroshi’s home to meet my adopted mother Violet. We had a lovely time as we enjoyed Violet’s cooking and we all had a great time getting to know each other. It feels as if things are getting better. I still put on the tough act as Akatsuki is straight forward with his feelings.

Akatsuki reaches into his pocket and pulls out a folded piece of paper which he now unfolds and holds it out in front of me to look at. It is a poster advertising something for tonight. I lift my hand to the paper and read the words printed on the page.

“What do you say about going to see the fireworks?” He leans down resting his chin on the top of my head and his arms wrap around my neck and chest.

I smile at the idea. I haven’t visited a fireworks festival before. I never went because there would be too many people and besides it isn’t fun when you’re on your own. People say it’s more special when you spend the celebration with a friend or someone truly special to you.

“I like it. Can we go there tonight?” He tilts my head back slightly to look up at him. He smiles and kisses my forehead tenderly. I light blush sweeps across my face again but I obviously try hiding it.
