I hear faint voices ringing in my head. Dull sounds but it echoes before fading. Opening my eyes a figure is there leaning over me. I feel cold and I can hardly move. I see the figure’s mouth move but I can't hear anything. The figure is blurred and I can't see who it is.

Glancing around I see I'm in a room. I wonder what happened to the white world of coldness. Where am I?

"Shiro..." I hear my name faintly being repeated numerous times. It looks like the figure is talking to me. Shiro is my name but...who is this person?

The figure places its hand on my cheek leaning closer. I still can't see who it is. They kiss my forehead lightly then my lips before they lean down to my ear before whispering something.

"Shiro...promise...protect you..."

I didn't hear all of what this person said but those words...they stay in my mind like a memory.

The fuzziness starts to disappear and everything is becoming clear. The figure starting looking more masculine…a young but strong looking boy.

I looked into his eyes...bright blue…where have I seen those eyes?...

Long slender arms wrap around my skinny body. A warm breath breathes on the back of my neck sending shivers down my spine. I slowly turn my head to see Akatsuki embracing me from behind. My cheeks grow hot a little as I am having all these strange tingles run through my body.

“I’ve taken everything to the car. You ready?” He whispers with this sexy tone that makes you crumble or melt in the inside. Why am I even reacting like this?

His arms slowly retreat leaving me all sensually weird. He smiles and heads out of the kitchen. I take a moment to calm myself down as my heart is beating faster. I remember the exact feeling when I woke up with Akatsuki cuddling me the other day and when he kissed me earlier today. The kiss was tender and gentle…my first real kiss.

I shake my head clearing the thoughts and hurry out of the kitchen to lock the apartment up. I also have to hand my keys to the land owner before I forget.

I resume to my emotionless Shiro so Akatsuki doesn’t suspect anything different then I grab my jacket that I left on the coat hooks at the door then I hold the keys in my hand. Akatsuki waits outside as I slowly start to close the door.

Taking one more look at my apartment I close the door completely and lock it hearing the click sound as I do so. This apartment has been my home for seven years now and I’m going to miss it. It’s hard leaving a place you have been living in for a long time but Akatsuki…I must take this risk and trust him.

I stand facing the door as I feel Akatsuki place his hand on my arm.

“You okay?” His voice is gentle and calming. I slowly turn and smile very slightly.

“Ready, just need to drop keys into the apartment at the end.” I walk to the apartment at the end and slip the keys in through the letter hole. I then head back over to Akatsuki and we went into the elevator.

I fall silent thinking about a few things. Akatsuki’s hand grasps mine gently; his finger curling around mine. I glance up at him silently. It feels weird to be holding hands with Akatsuki. He is my teacher after all but…he knows many things about me that I can’t even start imagine. I am going to try to not think about it too much as I would more likely get nervous again.

The elevator doors open and we walk out heading over to the silver foreign car. Akatsuki opens the passenger door for me and I hop in; our hands parting once again. He then walks around and climbs in the driver’s seat and buckle up.

He starts the car up and we are off. I stare out the window looking at the passing buildings and people.

It is about fifteen minutes later that Akatsuki pulls up at a house. I look up at the house and instantly I feel really amazed. His house is so beautiful, a traditional Japanese home not too far away from my home.

It has a wooden arch which you walk under as the gate. Long and thick vines grew and dangles over the top of a low wooden fence that surrounds the property. The roof has black clay tiles and it all comes down to a curled up point in the corners. It is an average sized house but truly amazing. It’s already starting to get excited to see the inside even though my thoughts say otherwise. There aren't very many traditional Japanese homes left in the area which is such a shame. All the young city people have gotten influenced by the western style housing so the traditional housing nearest the cities aren’t as popular but if you go out towards the outskirts of Tokyo you’ll see that most are traditional housing.

I get out of the car looking at the house and I can see the garden. In the garden I see a cherry blossom tree. It has a few blossoms but the flowering season is basically over. There is a cement pathway that leads to the front door and along the sides of the path are little grey clay lanterns with electric lights for night time. I bet it would be pretty at nightfall.

Akatsuki opens the boot to the car and I help him carry my things to the door walking along the footpath. Akatsuki then opens the front door and walks in. I walk in after him and stop. The inside of the house is also traditional looking. There are rice paper doors, Tatami flooring and in the main room is a short legged table for eating at.

I slip off my shoes at the entrance same as Akatsuki then continue in before turning down a corridor. Akatsuki walks up a flight of stairs at the end of the hallway to  the first door on the left. He stands at the door smiling at me as I walk up the stairs dragging my feet a little.

“This will be your room. Hope it is ok for you oh and the bathroom in next door to you so if you need to go in the middle of the night it’s just there.”

“Thank you.” I simply say then I look into the room. My eyes widened a little. “Wow, nice home.” I walk into the room looking around and place my things off to the side. The room looks homier than my old one. I don’t mind simple but this room has a nice view of Tokyo inner city. My old apartment didn’t really have a wide view even though I lived on the second floor so this is perfect. I certainly didn’t expect Akatsuki to live I one of the traditional homes. I thought he would live in those huge block western style homing’s.

“Sorry, I like to keep things more traditional so I have futon bed in the cupboard but if you’re not used to sleeping on one of those then well I sleep on a proper western bed that you are used to. You could sleep there and I will sleep on the futon. Whichever suits you. ”

“I’ll see how I go. Thank you” I smile at him  gently trying to hide the big child I am in the inside.

“Okay well I’ll go the rest of your things and you can start to unpack if you want.” He walks back down the stairs heading for the car again. I look down at my bags then at the window. I walk over to the window and look out. Things are going to be different from now on…living a different way and with the company of Akatsuki. I just have to hang in there.

I raise my hand to my locket and clasp my fingers around it just staring out at the view.
