Class has begun already. I sit in my usual seat at the back of the class beside the window and glance out the glass window. All the other students are throwing paper planes, shouting across the room and just basically mucking around. I don't care as they aren't my problem. I just stare out the window, ignoring everything that is going on around me.
The sun slowly rises up in the sky and starting to set in the west on its journey to the other side of the earth. The sky is a clear at the moment; not a clouds in sight. I watch birds dance as they glide in the air effortlessly with their wings fanned out beautifully. If only I could fly so I can forget about this place. I would fly higher above the clouds and never look down; just flying off into the distance without looking back. That would actually help giving my situation and past.
The class suddenly hushes silent and all scurry back to their seats. I glance over at the door seeing the principal standing at the door not too happy either. His arms are crossed over his chest and his glasses have fallen down his nose a little.
His eyes wander around the room going from one student to the next. He walks into the room and stands at the front as everyone stands and bows to him before sitting down again; their eyes glued on the principal. The atmosphere feels tense. It is only ever like this when the principal is near us. I kind of like how the principal can just walk by and everyone calms down and fall silent. If he was around all the time I bet I could get on with my own life and not have anyone bother me.
The Principal is really tall and broad chested. He has to be about six foot two. He wears his black suit with a red tie like he always does every day. He is also wearing his black leather shoes and his black square-framed glasses. The Principal always looks so intimidating but it's a good thing too. If the Principal doesn't look scary then how are you meant to control the rest of the students?
"Good afternoon, for today's English class we have a new teacher who will be taking over Mrs Shinohara’s position for the rest of the year. Please make Mr Tanazuki feel welcome." His voice, manly and deep; he could command a troop on a training camp, that’s how tough and scary he looks and sounds but I’m not intimidated by him.
He beckons Mr Tanazuki into the classroom.
I stare with unfazed eyes as Mr Tanazuki walks into the room with a warm smile. He bows to everyone and glances at the principal before looking at the class.
"Hello everyone, my name is Mr Tanazuki as you may have already known." Mr Tanazuki introduces himself and puts his bag and cardigan on his desk. The principal leaves the room taking his scary atmosphere with him and closes the door behind him. I look out the window again like I always do. "So, why don't we introduce ourselves by going around the room and telling your name and something you enjoy participating in."
As Mr Tanazuki requested, all the students starts to introduce themselves from the front of the class one by one heading to the back of the room. The others just whisper amongst themselves.
"Hotaka Moriyama and I like Soccer." An athletic boy with black hair who causes mischief and a little trouble but overall not such a bad kid, or at least that's just what I'm told. He is average height and just doesn't get I like to be left alone.
"Tami Fujioka and I love Horse riding." Tami is all about horses. I hear her all the time and honestly she never stops talking about horses. It's really annoying after a while. She always wears two braids with two red ribbons.
It is now my turn. How annoying. I just kept looking out the window as I feel most of the student's eyes looking at me. Not that care whether people are looking at me but I simply ignore it.
"Oh that's just Shiro Jujin. He doesn't really talk or hang with anyone." Said a student near the teacher. I recognise the voice. It is just a know it all guy who likes to be a teacher’s pet in all classes. He always sits in the first row just in front of the teacher’s desk. But he is one of the smartest in the grade.
