Detention Buddies Pt. 2

Part 2!!! I'm sorry for so much dialogue! I was in a rush to finish this up! Also the fanfic I'm starting should be getting released soon so be ready for that! Here we go........

Percy's POV

"Annabeth! Annabeth!" I called after her but she only ran faster.

"Sweetie she was was probably just overwhelmed." The voice of my mom came from my phone. "Look I get you like her but she is probably just trying to sort everything out. Maybe let her be alone for a bit."

"I can't do that when she and I are in detention together!!!" I whisper yelled. 

"Just text her or something, ask her out. If you really think you like her then this Silena thing means nothing. The post means nothing. You would be a wreck if it did, so right now I think this is good. Silena shouldn't have posted it, but this just shows how you feel about Annabeth. I have to go now Percy, see you at home. Love you."

"Love you too." I hung up and Estelle pulled on my jeans.

"Percyyy!!! I didn't get to say I wuv you!" She complained. I laughed and set her down for a nap.

I tried getting ahold of Annabeth for the rest of the day. She never responded to my texts, calls, I even emailed her. She didn't respond to anything.

The next day at school I didn't see her in detention.

"Uh hey where is Annabeth?" I asked the teacher at the front. We had Mr.Bruner as our supervisor for the rest of the week, so that's a plus.

"She is absent today, she will be back tomorrow."

"Hey, missed you at detention yesterday," I said smirking. I stood next to Annabeth's locker, she didn't say a word. Her eyes were filled with storms, similar to the way they were when we first met. 

"Do I need to remind you? Don't hit on me, don't talk to me, don't touch me, and we won't have a problem." She slammed the locker shut causing me to jump. 

"So we're not gonna talk about it!?" I yelled as she walked away.

She didn't respond.

I couldn't focus in any of my classes today. That's probably cause of my ADHD and dyslexia, but also I needed to talk to Annabeth.  When I got to detention she was already there working on homework.

"Hey." I whispered. Her eyes shot up and they glared at me. I kept trying to get her attention but she continued to ignore me. I poked at her arm with the end of my pencil. "Annabeth..." 

She was cute when she got mad, but then it was just scary.

"PERSEUS JACKSON WILL YOU STOP!" She yelled. Mr.Brunner looked up from his computer and he just stared blankly.

Annabeth stormed out.

Mr.Brunner looked at me and nodded his head toward the door. Well, aren't you gonna go after her? He kept motioning for me to go. I stood up and ran after her.

She walked around the entire school. Each time I caught up she turned a corner and vanished. I ran through the hallways hoping to find her. I looked down while I ran and suddenly rammed into a body.

"Annabeth! Oh thank god." I grabbed her wrist before she could start running again.

"Percy let go of my hand." She said sternly. Her eyebrows furrowed and her mouth was frowning at me.

"No. I mean yes. I mean...only if you stay." She rolled her eyes and nodded. I let go of her hand, she stood still.

"Annabeth look, I really like you so will you go out with me?" Her face had no emotion, or nothing I could read. 

"No, I'm sorry but I can't. I like you too but I can't." Her eyes started to fill with tears.

"Why not?" I asked.

"Cause- cause the last time I dated someone it didn't end well." She rubbed her arm which was covered with the hoodie as always. I looked down and she pulled the sleeve up a bit. Her lower arm was scarred. 

"Oh my god." That was all that I could let out. I hugged her and she cried into my shoulder. Her blonde hair smelled like lemons.

"I- uh- sorry. I normally don't act like this." She rubbed her eyes and laughed.

"It's okay, feelings are valid." I joked and she hugged me again. Annabeth pulled away and grabbed her phone out of her back pocket.

"Ummm how are you texting me?" She showed me the screen. 

"Must be my sister. My mom told me to leave my phone at home today." We both laughed as Estelle kept sending different emojis. 

The last text she sent was Your welcome Percy

Annabeth and I continued to walk around the empty school. We had both realized it was already 4 and we should be getting home by now. 

"So is that still a no on the date?" I smirked and I wrapped an arm around her. She turned her head and smiled.

"Actually change of plans..." She got on her toes and kissed me. She wrapped her arms around my neck and pulled back. "Sure Percy, I'll go out with you." We kissed again and I felt my entire world melt away.
