"And your first place winner for our National Cheerleading Competition is..."

Annabeth stood nervously on stage with the rest of the team. They had made it to the top three cheer teams and now it was all down to this. She fidgeted with the end of her cheer uniform anxiously. She stood at the front like all the other captains.

"GOODE HIGH!"

It took her a second to even fully comprehend that they had called Goode. When it finally sunk in she jumped up and down with her team.

They handed her the huge trophy and Annabeth could've sworn this was the best moment in her life. The cheerleading team posed around Annabeth and the trophy and took pictures. The confetti rained down on them. All that was on her mind was her future now. She nailed Senior Year, well minus boys but that's beside the point. Only the next couple of months so school was gonna be a breeze.

When they got back to school on Monday they walked in carrying the trophy. Stares followed them through the hallways as they walked to the trophy case. Little did they know that at the opposite entrance for the school the basketball team was returned with their championship trophy, and there was only one spot left in that trophy case.

Both teams met at the clear case, holding the dozens of cheer, basketball, and football trophies. Those were the three main things at Goode.

Percy led the basketball team and stood at the front of the team.

"If you excuse us gentlemen I think we have a trophy to put in." Annabeth had Hazel hand her the trophy and she was about to open the case. It was almost the height of Hazel so it probably wasn't the best idea they made her carry it...

"Uh, actually I think our trophy should go in," Percy said. He lightly nudged Annabeth out of the way.

"All you guys did was shoot a ball into a cheap net. We actually worked out butts off to learn how to dance on our hands. Our trophy should go in. Tell him Annabeth. You said you were loyal to us, tell Percy our trophy should go in." Rachel demanded.

Despite Annabeth turning Percy down the two teams had formed a real rivalry, and it was intense. Often serious pranks were involved. Once the basketball team ripped their exclusive handmade pom poms. So the cheer team slashed all their basketballs open. Both teams had to miss a game and competition.

Annabeth looked at Percy and stepped to him. He looked at her with these eyes that pleaded with her not to.

"Our trophy goes in. And if you even try you can deal with me." Annabeth walked toward Percy which caused him to step back.

"C'mon Annabeth." Percy tried to reason with her. He remembered whats she had said at the beginning of the year. They could hang out after nationals. Except now it seemed like that would never happen.

She opened the case and put the huge trophy inside of it.

"Better find another place." Rachel shrugged and the cheer team walked away as well as the basketball team. They walked in the opposite directions, it was like something straight out of a movie. Except Annabeth and Percy stayed behind.

"What the hell was that? Suddenly I'm just some guy you can drop? Nationals is over, so are the SATs."

"Percy, I like you a lot but the rivalry..."

"So I have to spend a year as your rival because I accidentally tripped you, then you blow me off on our first date because you had a lot on your plate, now you turn me down because of how our teams are gonna react? You know Annabeth I think you just too obsessed with your reputation."
