"Crown Princess Annabeth Chase!" The royal advisor announced. The doors swung open and a beautiful girl wearing a red ball gown came in. It wasn't too large but just that right amount of poof that made anyone feel like a princess, even though she was one. Her hair pulled into a bun and a tiara resting upon her head. Two strands of her princess blonde hair were curled and were in front of her face.

Everyone turned at her entry and bowed as she walked in. The princess stood straight and walked in. After the entrance everyone went back to normal. The hushed piano playing music, the quiet chattering of voices, the small clinks of glasses hitting against each other.

"Happy birthday Princess."

She had heard that phrase several times that night. Not even several hundreds. Even with it the few minutes she was there. She was turning 16. It was a huge event for a princess to be 16. It meant some good things, and some not so good things. One was that now she was included in court meetings for decisions, as a future queen and all. The bad thing was that now she was open from arranged marriages. She found it stupid how it was the 21st century and people were still doing these things. Athenia, her kingdom was extremely wealthy and very extravagant. She could run it on her own without a man. Yet her parents insisted they were looking at suitors.

She was walking to get a drink when a certain someone pulled her beside so she was behind a wall.

"Percy, later okay. I still have to say hello and thank you to like 50 more people." She looked at the young prince who was dressed accordingly. She always got butterflies when he was dressed up. With the neat and put together suit but the messy hair and those sea green eyes.

"K but I get a kiss before you leave. Oh and meet me by the garden in an hour." He smirked and Annabeth pecked him on the cheek. She was about to leave when he stopped her. "Happy Birthday." He smiled sweetly.

Annabeth just laughed a little and smiled back and she ran back to the party. Her parents found her after a few minutes and pulled her aside. She started to count the number of times she was or was going to be pulled aside that evening.

"Annabeth this is Prince Luke." Her step mom, the queen, introduced her. "We've been discussing with his father about some arrangements." The queen smiled and Annabeth looked to the floor anxiously.

She had to admit the prince was cute, except nothing compared to Percy.

"You two can dance for the next song." Annabeth's dad patted her on the back and went over to the pianist.

She would much rather be dancing with Percy then Luke but she had to obey, she had no other choice. She waltzed with him but could eye Percy watching from the side. She got a little sad. Her parents never approved of Percy even when they met as kids. Which is why they had to make sure no one knew about their relationship. When the song ended she curtsied and Luke bowed. She ran off to the garden. With the amount of people at the party no one would ever know she was gone. She picked up the dress and ran so she wouldn't trip.

Percy was outside looking at the stars from a stone bench. He stood up when he saw Annabeth.

"Who was that guy?" Percy asked her.

"Luke? Most likely my future husband. My parents they just- ugh."

Percy saddened.

"Your parents hate me." Percy laughed trying to make a joke out of the situation.

"They do don't they." Annabeth crossed her arms and rolled her eyes with a smile. "What did you do to make them hate you?"

"I have no idea."

They both walked through the pretty garden. The flowers shimmered under the moon and the stars. The sound of Annabeth's heel clicked on the stone pathway. Her hand was wrapped in the crook of his arm. She wanted nothing more then to be with him. To be able to be with him in public, not have to hide it from her parents, not have to hide it from anyone.

"Princess Annabeth. Fancy seeing you here."

Luke walked in front of them. She separated from Percy as fast as she possibly could.

"Your parents were looking for you."

Annabeth looked to Percy who urged her to go on, they could talk more later. She nodded her head to Luke and they walked back into the castle. Percy looked to one of the statues in silence.

"What are you looking at?" He furrowed his eyebrows at the inanimate object then ran off to go back inside.

The rest of the night faded into one for Annabeth. There was a toast in her honor here, a dance there. She barely saw Percy. It was like he disappeared. She figured it was because her parents were around her for the rest of the night. When the party had finished Luke stayed behind with his dad. Annabeth knew it from the second they didn't leave that evening. It was official.

Percy had stayed behind too, he was watching from behind a turned corner that led down to the kitchen.

When Luke ad his dad finally left Annabeth was instantly angry.

"ITS MY LIFE! I SHOULD GET TO DECIDE!"

"It's also for the sake of our kingdom! We don't want another war do we?"

Annabeth shook her head no.

"Besides it's not like any other prince is waiting for you." Her step mom snickered.

"Percy. Percy is."

Percy couldn't hear the conversation anymore. Annabeth marched up to her room as butlers and maids started to clean the ballroom.

Annabeth sat in her dress on her bed, not bothering to change. She sat in silence.

"Hey."

She looked over to her window and Percy was there. It was something straight out of a fairytale. The dashing prince comes to see the gorgeous princess locked away in the tower.

"Hey." Annabeth went over to the window and helped him in.

"I saw the whole thing downstairs." Percy was sad.

Annabeth was a smart girl. She knew a way out of this. She had the ultimate plan. It was clear Luke had no sign of interest in Annabeth he was just doing it for the money, the fame. He came from a small kingdom, nothing like Athenia.

"I have a plan Percy, but no one can know."

Part two of this is gonna be funnnn!!! A lot of my one shots that have multiple parts are just fanfics I don't have motivation to write 17 chapters for.
