Chapter 40

Author's notes: I am sorry for releasing the chapter so late but I have started University, so from now on, chapters might take longer to get release with me being in University. I will still try to release once a week but I cannot promise anything.

As they flew closer to the palace Eda was becoming restless, it was obvious she still hated the idea of coming here and meeting Belos. Luz was calm and was deep in thought, what Eda and Lilith had said was still in her mind.

Why is the idea of vampires different? And more specifically, why are the abilities of vampires different from her world? What led to this difference?

These were the questions that were tormenting Luz, she had some idea as to why but she doesn't have anything solid to back up her ideas. As for Lilith, she was anxious, she didn't know how her sister would act in front of Belos, she knew she would behave since it was for the benefit of Luz and something else but still she could help but be anxious. As they touch down, all of them become tense whatever happens here could very well define their future.

As they got out they saw more carriages arriving, each one of them brought all the influential families of the Boiling Isles and the leaders and vice leaders of the covens, to everyone's surprise, a common family also was summoned, the Park family. Aside from the Park's anyone in a position of power has arrived at the palace.

"Edalyn" Ulysse calls outs.

"Ulysse, what is it?"

"You will have to enter with me, as you are the vice leader of the secret coven"

"Then what about..."

As she looks over to Luz, five vampires and Scarlett emerge from the shadows, why they didn't help in the fight, is a great question but most likely they didn't appear as they were probably commanded to stay in the shadows until called upon. Lilith goes to the Emperor's coven and makes sure everything goes according to plan, while she is worried for Edalyn she can't watch over her, all she can do is hope she behaves. Everyone who didn't know about Luz was confused and scared, they were not told anything about vampires coming today.

"What is a vampire doing here!?"

"We were informed of this!!"

"We need to..."

"Now, now, everyone, Belos summoned us and her, here for a reason, would you want to go against him?" Alador said.

"As Alador says, Belos didn't tell us a reason and today we are being told that reason" Faust responded.

As others were going to talk, Kikimora appeared. "His majesty is calling all of you, follow me"

Kikimora started to walk towards the throne room, everyone was frustrated but they couldn't go say anything since it would mean that they are going against Emperor Belos.

---Luz's Pov---

I look at all the influential families and was somewhat nervous, I never thought I would be a leader of something, I was just a girl that was bullied and abused not too long ago and now I am someone with power with people who depend on me. I know I have to look like I am calm, but I am a nervous wreck. I then felt a surge of fear, I looked up and could see Boscha scared, she was scared that her father would find out she was a vampire. If she knew that today, she and Willow would be announced as vampires, she wouldn't have come, do forgive me Boscha you can punch me when we get home. I saw Amity and smiled, but Scarlett touched my shoulder, she didn't say anything but I knew she wanted for me to get my head in the game.

We soon reach the throne room, where every witch bows to Belos, of course, Eda didn't do the hole kneel down and bow, she simply stood tall and proud. I and the other vampires did the same, we didn't bow, we stood pridefully. All the families watch in surprise, Eda didn't bow they were expecting the vampire to do that but not her.
