Chapter 29

"Scarlett"

Scarlett approached Aurora who was resting on the balcony, as she did she never let her off Aurora, not even once. Scarlett stood next to Aurora in silence for a while, enjoying the fresh air and being outside.

"Aurora, I wanted to talk to you about something"

"If this is about Lilith, then you can forget about winning her. She will be mine"

"... While yes, I wanted to talk about Lilith at first, a little bat told me something interesting today"

"Then what is it you want to talk about?"

"About you"

Aurora was confused, she thought Scarlett had come here to discourage her, to make her give up on Lilith, she knew Scarlett had something cooked up. "How about we don't talk about nothing?"

"Very well then... you know, I find what is happening very weird"

Aurora said nothing, she just listened to Scarlett. "All these years you could have made your move, be with her but you didn't, why?"

Aurora thought about it, why she didn't run away with Boscha when she had the chance, she knew the reason very well, she didn't want to burden Lilith with the breaking of vows.

"I was also wondering why did you suddenly change your sexuality? From what I have heard you are straight, not gay"

Aurora knew what Scarlett meant by this, to suddenly change, to change to please someone, she knew how to do so after spending so many years with that monster. It was then that something clicked inside Aurora's mind, she was good at putting on a mask and having people do as she pleases, she wasn't like this, that monster was.

"I also wonder, if you truly love Lilith and not just using her"

Aurora turned to see Scarlett, she was furious, she wanted to scream and be mad at her but something deep inside her agreed with her. Scarlett wonders if by living with that monster for so long, she has changed. Change into something similar to what that monster is. She knew this but she wanted it not to be true, she was sure she was in love with Lilith, it was Scarlett trying to mess with her mind.

"Whatever you are planning it won't work, I love Lilith of this I am certain"

"No, you are not certain. You are just denying the truth, that all"

"Then, what about you!? Huh! From what I heard you had a lover that was recently killed!!"

"Emily, yes she perished in a horrible way... but I know she is still watching over me, pushing me to continue going forward, to not stop. If I could ask for her blessing to be with Lilith, I know she would give it"

Aurora could see that Scarlett was seeing Lilith as Emily, her dead lover. "You say I don't love Lilith, that I see her as someone I can use, I also wonder if you are seeing Emily in Lilith and ignoring her persona"

"... You know, you are right, as I was talking about you using Lilith, I realize I was doing the same, I wasn't looking at Lilith as herself but seeing Emily in Lilith. I know this now and because of it I can let go of Emily and move toward Lilith and learn to love her more"

Aurora was pissed at Scarlett, she wondered why she didn't do what she wanted, with that thought she remembered the voice of the monster saying the same. She looked at her hands and truly wondered if she was transforming into that monster, into the thing she wanted to escape.

"You know, you would hurt Lilith if you are just faking it, just like you have been hurt"

Aurora couldn't take it and run away from the balcony into a room.
