Chapter 5

"Lilith? What are you doing here?" Eda said standing up and grabbing the book.

"What do you think I am doing here?" Lilith said standing up.

Eda took a moment to think, it took a little bit of thinking but she connected the dots. "Oh, that's why Principal Bump knew about the vampire's attack escalating"

"Yes, I came here to inform him about it, with what happened to Luz... I don't want to risk any other students being attacked by vampires on their way home. And what are you doing here, Edalyn?"

"I came here to talk to Bump about Luz and her condition which... you know, make it impossible for her to come to school"

"I see, you really care for her" Lilith said with a fascinating tone of voice.

"Oh, shut up, well I will be leaving. I don't want to leave Luz alone through this process" As Eda started to walk away from Lilith she remembered something. "Oh yeah, Lilith"

"Yes, Edalyn"

"Tell your apprentice that Luz might not be able to make it to their 'secret meeting'"

"I will, well then I will be going now. You go to Luz she shouldn't be alone through all this," Lilith said walking away

-------Back to the present------

"Hey kiddo, How are you feeling?" Eda said kneeling in front of Luz

"I don't know, I feel like this must be a bad dream and hope to wake up any moment, but I know that this is reality"

"Well, I went to your school and informed Bumps about your current situation, you don't have to go to school not until I find a way to cure you or help fight the sun"

"Oh, I see thank you Eda" Luz said getting into a ball

"Hoot, hoot. What is the password?" Eda heard Hooty said. Eda got up and went to the front door to open it. As she opened it, she saw Amity with a pile of papers.

"Hello Owl Lady, I came to give this to Luz. It's her homework and lecture notes I wrote for her" Amity said handing over the papers.

"Thanks, kid"

"It's Luz okay? I heard that she will not be coming to school for an indefinite amount of time" Amity said with a worried look on her face.

"Oh, yeah Luz... is fine, she is just dealing with human problems, that all"

"Oh, okay I also heard from Lilith that she would be missing our... meetings," Amity said blushing.

"Yeah, sorry about that kid. Luz just need times to get everything in control, that all"

"Oh, okay I will be going, have a nice day Owl Lady," Amity said starting to walk away.

"Goodbye," Eda said, closing the door. She proceeds to go up the stairs and into Luz's room.

"Why did you lie to Amity?"

"How... right, vampire super hearing" Eda sat next to Luz. "Look, Luz ever since the incident..."

"By incident, you mean the war between vampires and witches. I ask Amity why no one talks about vampires, she told me" Luz said cutting off Eda.

"I see, ever since the war, witches have always hated vampires and actively seek them out to kill them"

Luz connected the dots and understood why Eda had been secretive about her new condition. "So the others that got bitten and transformed into a vampire..." Luz said, turning to look at Eda.

Eda could see that Luz had connected the dots. "Yes, they have been killed. That why I can just be going saying that you have transformed"

"But what about your sister? And principal Bumps?"

"Lilith, will not say anything to anyone" She wouldn't want to hurt Amity, who has a crush on you. Eda thought. "As for Bumps I believe he will say nothing, he even gave me this books in hope, it could help us," Eda said taking out the book

"I see," Luz said getting more depressed

Eda could see that Luz was not doing great, she turned around to look at the clock, it was 5:50 p.m. it was getting late. She then decided that Luz needed time alone, but not inside her room. Eda picked up Luz and went to the back door, opened it, and put Luz down.

"Eda!! I can't be outside, the sun is going to burn me alive!!" Luz yell

"It is almost 6, so the sun is almost gone and not to mention you need to eat. But I don't have any more bottles of blood for you to drink, so you will have to go and hunt your food."

"What!? But I don't know what to do or how to do it!?"

"You don't have to worry about that, your new instinct will guide you. You will feel like you have been doing this your entire life. You also don't have to worry about people, since this house is surrounded by nothing but woods. So, off you go I don't want you to return until I see blood dripping from your mouth"

Luz wanted to fight back, but she started to feel hungry, even if she hated it Eda was right she needed to eat and now that she is a vampire, she needs to drink blood. Luz breathes in and calms down, she realizes that it is better this way, since she wouldn't be hurting anyone, there were only animals around, just like Eda said she doesn't have to worry. Luz got up and started to run towards the forest, having seen Luz run toward the forest Eda close the door.

Running down the forest Luz felt strangely alive despite being dead, this made her think about herself, was she alive or dead. Luz pondered the question until she heard animals in the distance, the question left her brain and she ran towards the sound and as soon as her prey was in sight she pounced on it but missed since she wasn't used to her new abilities. The animal tried to escape but Luz caught up and sank her fangs into the animal and began to drink her prey completely dried.

As she drank all the blood of her prey she felt more alive than ever, but she was still hungry. She wanted more, Luz then went on a killing spree, devouring anything and everything.

It was then that Luz heard the roar of a predator, she climbed a tree to give her a more advantageous position to locate her new prey. It was then that she realized how good her vision is despite being night already, she could see everything clear as day. She spotted her prey and saw that it was coming in her direction, Luz remained still and waited for her prey to get close to ambush it. As soon as her prey was in sight she pounced on it, but the prey proved to be a tough catch, the prey dodges her and kick her in the chest, this sent Luz flying toward a branch.

The branch impaled Luz in her right lung, this would have killed anyone but not Luz, she just broke the branch and pulled it out. The wound healed almost instantly, Luz looked up to see that her prey was now running towards her, looking to kill and eat her. This time Luz dodge and jump on top of her prey, she then processed it to sink her fangs on her prey. The blood of the prey tasted better than the other, maybe because it was a natural predator and not prey. Her prey let a final roar before it was too weak to even stand.

Luz drank her prey completely dried, but she was still hungry. It was then that she heard a noise right in front of her, she looked in the direction to see her new set of prey. They were witches, Luz licks her lips wondering how good their blood tasted.
