Chapter 6

----Going back in time----

Amity left the owl house, but she knew something was off. The Owl Lady was hiding something, something about Luz. She knew by the way the Owl Lady was talking and looking back that something big had happened to Luz. She wanted to go and talk to Luz but she knew that the Owl Lady wouldn't let her, but this wouldn't stop her, no no no, she just needed to sneak in and talk to Luz.

"Well, what happened to Luz?" Willow asks, walking towards Amity.

"According to the Owl Lady, nothing, just human problems, but that is a lie. She is hiding what really happened to Luz"

"Well, what do you propose to do? It is almost night time and you remember what principal Bumps said" Gus said in fear

"About the vampires, yes I do remember, Lilith also told me in the morning"

"Lilith?" Gus asks while standing up

"Yes, Lilith. She is my mentor and I went to her house to get more magic practice yesterday and I stayed the night since it was raining"

"I see"

"Ignoring Gus, what do you suggest to do, Amity? To go through the woods, close to night time when we were told that the vampire's attack had escalated?"

"Look, I know it is crazy and incredibly stupid, but I'm worried about Luz and..." Amity said while looking in the direction of the Owl House

"Amity, we all are worried about Luz, but what we are going to do is simply plain idiotic"

"I know, but I need to do this and talk to Luz, even if I have to do this dangerous plan"

"All I'm going to say is Willow has plant magic which will come in handy going into a forest. Amity has abomination magic and I with illusion magic, we are all capable of stopping a vampire attack, and if all fails use light magic"

"Yes, Gus is right we are capable of this" Amity said looking proud

"I don't know, it's still risky"

"Please, Willow help me with this and I will give you something in exchange"

"You would have to give me something I really want"

Amity walks up to Willow. "I know everything about Boscha you could ever want to know and don't try to say you don't like her" Amity whispers into Willow's ears. Willow was baffled and embarrassed at the same time.

"So what you say, do we have a deal?" Amity said, extending her arm out.

"Yes," Willow shakes Amity's hands.

The trio is standing in front of the forest shaking in fear, even though they have a plan in case the worst happens, they are terrified. The trio then starts to walk through the woods, Gus being more paranoid than everyone else, makes an illusion spell that puts a clone about 3 meters (9.8 feet) ahead of them, in case they don't spot anything at first. At first, nothing is happening, everything is calm, but then they start to hear weird noises in the distance, it sounded like the cries of animals. 

Animals scream and then silence this repeated itself over and over again, animals cry, then scream or roar, and finally silence. The three of them were truly terrified, as more times passed they heard fewer and fewer animals around them. They were still about 20 minutes away from the owl house and they were too afraid to continue, they wanted to run from here and not look back, but they needed to reach Luz even if they were terrified they knew Luz needed them with whatever she was going through.

Finally, an incredibly loud roar came in front of them, it sounded like a predator roar and it sounded in pain. They knew that whatever made that animal roar would be in front of them and they would have to confront it, Amity and Willow prepared their spell in case the creature jumped on them and attacked them. Gus made his illusion even more realistic to the point that they are making the sound of the plants they are passing through. Whatever creature was in front of the clone heard the noise and jumped on them. Willow cast her spell to immobilize the creature, but the creature simply destroyed the plants trying to bind it. Amity then cast a fire spell, to illuminate the area and was shocked at what or rather who the creature was.

"Luz!?"

---Back with Luz---

Luz having spotted her new prey pounce on them, but instead of grabbing her prey as she expected, she went through it. This confused her and looked back towards her prey just to be wrapped with plants, starting to get mad she destroyed the plants. As soon as she was free from the plants, she tried once more to attack her prey again, but a bright light came from behind her, this blinded Luz. In response to being blinded Luz scream in pain and jumped backward, as soon as she jumped she heard her prey scream.

"Luz!?" Amity yells at the sight of Luz.

"Is that Luz!?" Gus was getting scared.

"Amity! We need to run, we know what really happened to Luz, she transformed into a vampire!" Willow said, starting to run and taking Amity's hand.

Amity didn't want to run, but she didn't have a choice. Luz only sees them as prey and not her friends. Most likely the creature that was making the animals scream was Luz hunting them down. As they started to run, Luz got her vision back and started to chase after them, Gus tried to confuse Luz by making an illusion of themselves running in other directions, but Luz ignored the illusion and chased the real ones. Willow also tried to stop her by making the plants block the Luz path, but it was futile; she simply destroyed them before it could be used as a blockage. Amity wanted to fight but she couldn't bring herself to do so, she didn't want to hurt Luz even if the chances of hurting her were low. As Amity was looking back she tripped over a root of a tree, Luz noticed this and went for the kill. Amity tried to stop Luz from drinking her blood.

"Luz!! Please wake up, it's me Amity!!" Amity yells trying to push Luz back.

Amity was crying and looking into Luz's eye directly, they were not the ones she knew, they were no longer a beautiful brown instead they were crimson red even in the dark, she could see her eyes and those eyes were of a predator. Luz was looking at her prey and something deep inside her remembered this prey, Luz slowly was closing her mouth. She knew this prey, she remembered her, her name was Amity and was a friend and not food. Soon enough Luz came back to her senses and looked at Amity.

"Amity?" Luz said in confusion.

"Yes, Luz it's me Amity!!" Amity yells, still trying to push Luz.

Luz then realized in what position she was in, she was pinning Amity down. Normally this would cause Luz's brain to short-circuit, but this time was different. Luz got up and walked backward. She covered her mouth and looked around, she saw Gus and Willow. Luz was petrified and terrified at what she was trying to do just now, she remembered everything and remembered thinking of eating her friends. Luz ran towards the owl house, she no longer felt hungry, she instead was feeling disgusted at herself.

"Luz wait!!" Amity yells as she is getting up.

But it was too late, Luz was far away to hear her scream her name. Willow and Gus walk over to Amity and lead her out of the forest, even if they wanted to run after Luz, they knew Luz needed time alone after all she just tried to kill them. Luz reached the owl house and Eda was waiting for her in the living room.

"Well, someone had a successful hunt tonight," Eda said walking over to Luz.

"No, it wasn't!!" Luz yells while falling to her knees and starting to cry.

"What happened Luz? What is wrong?"

"I... I... I tried to drink Amity blood"

Eda kneel in front of Luz and started to comfort her, she wasn't worried that Luz's friend might talk, but she was worried about Luz mental health. She knew the three of them will come tomorrow to talk to Luz, to try to comfort Luz and let her know she wasn't at fault. Eda tomorrow wouldn't try to stop the kids either.
