Chapter 1

Luz has now been living in the Boiling Isles for about 6 months and she has met and encountered almost all kinds of supernatural creatures, she has gotten used to them and thanks to Eda she knows how to handle them, but the one creature she hasn't encountered before are vampires. Amity, who is reading Azura to her in their secret place in the library, notices Luz's mind starting to wander away.

"Hey, Luz is everything okay?"

"Huh? Oh? Yes, everything is okay, thanks for asking"

"Are you sure there nothing in your mind today? You have been spacing out a lot today?"

Luz started to remember Eda's warning to never mention vampires to anyone. Luz has always been curious though, as to why the topics of vampires were so off-limits and that virtually no one spoke of them. Luz wanted to ask Amity about it but was hesitant to ask.

"Luz!!" Amity yell

"Yes!? Yes, what is it Amity?"

"You started to space out again, are you sure you don't have anything in your mind?"

"Yes, I do have something in my mind, but I don't know if I should be asking you about this? You know what let just forget about it and let go back to Azura"

Luz started to look at the Azura book, and moments later started to flip the pages without reading them. Amity could see that whatever was in Luz's mind was eating her up before she wouldn't mind it and go back to Azura, but she had developed a big crush on Luz, and the gears on her head were turning and going in one direction.

Luz doesn't want to tell me what she is thinking, this usually doesn't happen. What if she is thinking about a possible crush? What if it is about a crush? BUT WHO!? I have been hanging out with Luz all this time and I haven't ever seen her actively talking or looking at someone before, but if she is thinking about someone, I need to know!!!

"Hey, Luz you know you can tell me anything or ask me anything, right?" Amity voice was shaking a little

"I know and I want to ask, but..." Luz said looking away and putting her hand in the back of her neck

Amity has been for me for quite a while and has helped me on multiple occasions, maybe I should ask her and satisfy my curiosity, but I don't want her to get in trouble because of me.

Just like Amity, Luz had developed a crush on Amity and tried her best to hide it while she was with her, but it was always difficult for her, if it wasn't for the fact that she knew almost all of the current Azura books, her secret would have been exposed months ago. Luz looks towards Amity, who looks worried and is trying to give help to Luz but trying not to be invasive about it.

"If you don't want to talk about it that fine, I shouldn't try to be invasive with your personal life" Amity voice carried some sadness with it

Luz reaches and grabs Amity's hands. "No, I know I can trust you and you might be the only one that could help me with the curiosity I have"

Amity's brain was short-circuiting when Luz grabbed her hands. What is happening? Where am I? Is this reality? Am I dreaming? Luz just grabbed my hands and has such a serious look on her face. What if it is about a crush? What if it is someone other than me!? Could I bring myself to smile while my heart is falling apart? But what if... What if her crush is ME!?

"Luz, you know I will help you no matter what your problem is"

"I have been curious about ..."

Amity led Luz's hand towards her forehead and rested them there, she leaned forward and closed her eyes."Luz, I will not make fun of you or try to do anything bad or mean, okay? I want to help you no matter what, Now what are you curious about?"
