"Why is my brother smirking like an idiot" Ophelia ask with slight disgust in her voice. She wasn't wrong though the marauders had walked into the great hall with their usual cocky composure but Sirius wasn't acting like he's usual self since the train ride and that was all thanks to Ivy Evans. "I think he looks good as an idiot"

Lily had now joined her sister and best friend and were looking at Ivy like she had just said the worst think imaginable. Ivy seemed to forget that she just willingly complimented the boy she always teased in front of her best friends.

"Did you just"

"Looks good?"

"My brother?"

Ivy could feel the warmth of the blush dusting the top of her cheeks, her hair and eyes turning a brilliant shade of rose. I really let that one slip didn't I? Ivy thought to herself. "Look it's nothing, he is attractive but that's it."

Ophelia nodded at the answer before turning her attention to the sorting ceremony. Lily although not convinced by her sisters answer, also diverted her attention to the ceremony clapping cheerfully for every first year to be sorted. Unfortunately for Lily she was to distracted by her sister and the first years she didn't notice James took the opportunity to sit beside her.

Dumbledore went on to give his speech which Ivy just zoned out also not noticing which marauder chose to sit beside her, making her in the middle of the black twins. The weirdest thing happened though, it was almost like she was drifting off to sleep and the scenery in her vision began to change.

I must've fell asleep Ivy thought to herself. Taking in her new surroundings she was by the black lake it was definitely past curfew but she did however notice how there was a wild flowers in bloom, meaning it was springtime in her dream.

There was a girl with long black curly hair similar to Sirius sitting against the tree smoking and staring out at the water. Ivy didn't recognize her to be a student, yet she felt strangely familiar to her. A tall red headed boy came sprinting over to the girl. "Your moms gonna kill you for smoking- wait your hair"

The girl turned and Ivy could now see her face, her black curls were slowly turning a shade of crimson red, her face stained with tears as the smoke left her mouth. The girl was a metamorphmagus as well, and from the looks of it wasn't very happy. "That's not really your concern anymore now is?" She seemed angry with him.

The boy looked guilty yet determined. Slowly bracing himself he sat next to the girl before lighting his own cigarettes, tears welling up in his eyes as he stared at the lake. "Fred what're you doing, you don't smoke"

"It's the only thing I have left of you and I know I don't get a say in your life anymore, but can I just sit here with you? George and I leave tomorrow"

The girl seemed conflicted as ore tears streamed down her face, she slowly let her guard down and rested her head on his shoulder, her hair turning a mixed shade of black and navy blue. "I hate that you're with her"

The boy now letting tears leave his eyes, stepping on the remains of his cigarette. "I know"

"Puds?! Puddles!! Hello!!" Sirius waved his hand in front of the girls face to gain her attention. 20 minutes into the feast and she was just sitting there staring straight ahead. "Sorry Fluffy I was just day dreaming"

Ivy joined in on conversations around the table helping herself to Yorkshire pudding, and potatoes with cheese. By the time dessert rolled around, Ivy helping herself to chocolate and strawberries and a cup of tea, she couldn't help but feel like that girl was so familiar, all she wanted to do was hug her. "You know there's chocolate covered strawberries right there right? Why eat them separately?"

Sirius gave the red-head a quizzical look. Sure he's noticed her doing it before, she ate it almost everyday, but never once had he questioned her. "I um oh" Ivy started getting nervous rubbing the back of her neck as her hair began turning rose once again.

"She's had this weird habit of measuring out what she eats since we wear little. With chocolate pieces she can measure, with melted chocolate she cannot" Lily answered for her sister who she could tell was getting flustered by having to explain her tedious habit.

Sirius nodded in understanding, thinking to himself that that's another thing he needs to know about Ivy Evans. Ivy was surprised there hasn't even been one argument since they got here, the feast was almost over and Lily hadn't even-. "Potter I swear to Merlin if you don't take your bloody arm off me, I'll cut it off"

Nevermind Lily had indeed already threatened James, who despite her aggression was still staring at her lovingly.

"Prefects please guide the first years to their dormitory's" Dumbledore announced before sending us on our way to bed.

Lily and Remus went ahead with all the first years the other years following suit. Although Ivy couldn't help but notice Ophelia had snuck away at some point, leaving her to walk with James, Peter, and Sirius.

James and Peter were having their own conversation a couple feet ahead of herself and Sirius. Neither one had said a word to the other; which was quite uncommon for the duo, usually they'd be talking about pranks, or Sirius's terrible family, or Ivy would answer his questions about certain muggle items he was interested in. But not tonight, because for the first time Sirius Black realized he wanted more then the banter, and subtle flirting that laced itself around their friendship, he wanted to be with Ivy Evans and he wasn't sure how to go about it.

Most of the Gryffindors had already gone to bed leaving only a few older years in the common room. Ivy was sitting on the couch waiting for Ophelia to return, from wherever she had gone. Sirius stayed in the common room with Ivy not wanting her to be up late alone. "Fluffy?"

"Yeah, Puddles?"

"Do you know how to braid?" Ivy looked at the dark haired boy beside, too tired to feel any sort of embarrassment over the question. She usually got Lily to braid it before bed, but she was probably already sleeping and didn't want to disturb her. Ivy didn't know why but she had these strange habits that she needed done otherwise she would 1. Panic or 2. Believe something bad would happen, her parents said it was something to do with OCD, whatever that was. "Yeah I used to braid Lias when we where younger, why?"

"Could you braid mine?" Sirius nodded. Ivy went and sat in the floor between Sirius's legs so he would have better access to her hair. Sirius couldn't help but notice how soft her hair was or how it always smelt like white tea, and strawberries. He couldn't help but notice how she relaxed under his touch, her hair slowly turning a soft shade of baby blue, unlike the dark shades of navy and royal representing her sadness this blue just showed how trusted and calm she was. Sirius couldn't help but smile, when he realized this was his doing.

Ivy and Sirius were so caught up between the relaxation and the admiration the two found in each other, they didn't even notice Ophelia and Remus sneaking back in through the portrait. The couple paused thinking they were busted only to see what was happening in front of them, an unexpected love.
