Ch.47-You need to have hope

March 10th brought a lot of pain into everyone's life, despite it being Remus's birthday, it was also Poppy-Lynn's. She would've been two.

Ivy at least knew she indeed was turning two that day the water drop charm and the bunny still remained intake on her bracket. There alive, is something Ivy would continually repeat to herself when she was alone. She needed to continue having hope, hope that one day her best friend would return and Remus would finally be able to celebrate his birthday once again.

"Hey Love, I'm going on that mission with Moony soon. I won't be back until midnight" Sirius addressed walking into the bedroom to hand his wife their daughter.

"Do you really think it's wise, for him let alone both of you go on a mission tonight" Ivy asked lifting her arm up to let Scarlett snuggle into her side.

"He needs this Ives, I need this. Doing something, making a difference, it gives him hope it gives me hope. Because maybe they're still out there, maybe they didn't die" Sirius sighed sitting himself down the bed, bringing his hands up to his face.

"But Sirius they did. They're gone" Ivy hated the fact that she was lying just to protect whatever the hell Ophelia was doing out there. She especially hated lying to Sirius.

"What do you say about having hope?" Sirius asked bring his watering eyes up to meet Ivy's.

"That you need to have it" she sighed, letting the tear roll down her face as she saw how much her husband truly did need this. He needed to go on this mission, he needed to feel better about losing his sister, he needed to feel better about losing his brother, he needed something that would give him hope.

"Exactly Ives, that you need to have hope. So, have it" Sirius smiled weakly before leaning down to kiss the top of her and Scarlett's heads. "I'll see you at midnight love"

Ivy Black waited for the sound of her husbands apparition before she walked over to their shared closest. Searching behind the pile of shoes Ivy had, she finally pulled out a white shoe box. Inside laid her charm bracelet, along with photos vials of her memories of The Elemental Agreement. "How am I supposed to know when it's time, all of you are gone"

And it was true Ivy was alone, for however long until it was time. Pandora had to take off when she was only in her 6th year, Bellatrix had been rumoured to join the death eaters with husband Rodolphus Lestrange, along with Narcissa's new husband Lucius Malfoy, and Ophelia, Godric knows why she had to go. "Where the hell are you Lia? They need you, the boys need you, I need you" Ivy talked aloud to herself, letting her tears fall and her her eyes and hair to change to a royal blue.

She quickly put the boy away after checking the time in her watch, she looked back over to the bed to see Scarlett was sleeping peacefully. Picking up the sleeping toddler she placed her on the couch in the living room, while Ivy went to go make some food and bring out the first aid kit for Sirius's arrival.

It was now reaching 1am, 1 hour after Sirius said he'd be home. The food had gone cold and as if she could feel her mum's anxiety Scarlett had woken up and curled up into her mother's side, a similar shade of blue coating the toddlers head and she too wondered where her dad was.

It was when she finally hear the apparition, she began to feel better before she felt a whole lot worse.

"IVY!! ITS BAD" Ivy recognized the sound of James Potter's voice, he wasn't supposed to be on the mission.

Quickly running to open the door, Ivy saw something she never wanted to see again. James heavily supporting a bleeding Sirius and Lily carefully levitating an unconscious Remus.

"Place them in the kitchen, Lils I need you to take Scarlett to our room. I don't want her seeing Sirius like this" Ivy pleaded to her twin before going over to her husband.

"Love-"

"No Sirius!! This is exactly why I said today was a bad day to go on a mission, let me guess you and Rem got into a discussion about her and it got heated again, and that's when they struck when you were both occupied yelling about your sister!!" Ivy stated glaring at her husband and Remus.

"Okay Ivy just breathe. Yes you're right, okay? That's exactly what happened, but I'm here I'm alive okay?" Sirius tried making his wife feel better, but instead of making her more calm he just cause her to burst into tears.

Ivy didn't even try to contain her sobs as she began getting to work on Sirius, casting multiple healing charms, before passing him a Wiggenwald potion. She instructed similar tasks for James to perform on Remus and sooner than later he woke up. Although the moment he did, you cause cut the tension between him and Sirius with a knife. Something told Ivy it wasn't just Ophelia they were arguing about.

"Thank you for helping, but I think it's best if I go now. Some of you may be more welcoming than others" Remus seethed looking straight at Sirius, before quickly appearing once he was outside.

"You guys argued about more than Lia didn't you?" James asked, reading Ivy's thought.

Not making eye contact with either of them, Sirius just nodded his head. "If it's about the trai-"

Sirius quickly cut Ivy off before she could finish. "You think I'm crazy for thinking it, I know, but there's a traitor amongst us and I'll be dammed if I don't figure it out soon" Sirius answered quite aggressively before stoking off towards their bedroom.

Lily come in a moment later obviously having seen Sirius's bad mood. "You guys can get going, you both need to rest anyway" Ivy announced beginning to clean up in the kitchen.

"Ivy, you need rest too" Lily argued, trying to help her sister. Of course Lily would be the one even when she's pregnant and tired, to come and try to help Ivy when everything seemed to turn upside down.

"And I will rest, now that I know my husband is safe. He'll cool down in a bit here, so I'll just put away this while he does" Ivy answered with a tired smile, before saying her goodbyes to the couple.

It was only a couple minutes later when Ivy broke some in the middle of the kitchen sobbing uncontrollably, this day just wasn't a good one, and for once Ivy was tired of trying to be strong. It was only when the familiar warmth of two calloused hands wrapped around her middle, did she feel as if she could breathe again.

"I just want everything to be okay" Ivy cried, leaning the back of her head, on Sirius's left shoulder.

"And it will be"

"How can you promise that?"

"Because we protect one another Ives. As long as we're together everything will be okay, we'll make it out of this alive" Sirius sighed , placing a kiss on top of Ivy's head, holding her tightly against him, until he could her her breathing soften.

"You know I haven't heard from Peter in quite some time" Ivy mumbled slightly, before Sirius carried her off to bed.
