I woke up to the sound of voices. It started out with whispering. "Are you sure?"
"Of course I'm sure. She was talking to me last night. Besides, why else would this idiot be here?" Well, found Jake. "Hey, you told me to do this. You practically begged me." And Jack. Wait... Jack's here?
"Okay, maybe I did. But If i didn't get you there, who knows what would happen. You're the most talented protector I've known so can't you just do your job for once?"
"Whatever. But stop sugarcoating it, or else I'm out." My eyes blinked open, and I looked at the two idiots grinning. Jack held a small pair of scissors, and Jake was holding my arm down. "Umm...what are you doing?"
Jack tossed the scissors behind him. "Having the usual conversation. And you? How have you been?"
"Good I guess... Jake...do you know where General is?" He pointed to the corner of the room, and I gently smiled. He was asleep, slouched in his chair, a small blue bag hanging from the edge of his fingers. "He cut his hair..."
"Yeah, he did it just for you." Jake said, smiling at the floor. "Me?"
"He thought that he might not be able to get into the wedding with his long hair. Plus, he insisted that he'd get a fresh start. Anyways, we've come here to celebrate."
Jack said adjusting the collar of his blue flannel. "What...Why do you say that?"
"It's your birthday." I looked at the two boys. "Yeah... and?"
Jack sighed, and ruffled my hair, "We thought it would be a good idea to celebrate it together by doing fun stuff." I gently smiled. "Thanks guys, but there isn't much I can do. Keep in mind I'm carrying another human."
Jack chuckled, and glanced at the clock. "We'll be late if we don't go now."
"He's probably waiting. I'll go and call him up." General sat up in his chair, and rubbed his eyes before walking out of the room. "I'll go with you." He said groggily, before stumbling out the room. "Here, I'll help you get changed." He grabbed the bag off the counter, and pulled out a white dress. It was short, and beautiful.
His long and slender fingers ran over my skin as he placed the dress on me. It was nice. When he finished zippering it up, he kissed my neck and smiled. "I love you. Did you know that?"
I chuckled. "I always have." He twirled me around so he could see my face. "Your eyes... they're always changing into something much more beautiful every day. It's like they have this sparkle to them... that makes me wonder whether they're thinking about me?"
I gently smiled, and hugged him. "I always am, and I always will."
Jake's fingers, brushed the surface of my skin as he swayed. "Okay... now we have to go." He grabbed my hand, and led me down the corridor of the hallway and into an elevator. I counted all the buttons. There were thirty-five in total. And it seemed that we were on the fourteenth flour. "Kai..."
"Yes?" I said, turning around. Gee, now that I really look at it, Jake's a bit taller than me. Enough that I might have to get on my toes to kiss him. Has it always been that way?
Anyways, he hands me a pair of shoes. And of course, those were also beautiful. "Did you do all of this for me?" He smiled. "Looks like I've been caught."
"Thank you." I said, hugging him. "I haven't even seen all of it... but I know it took you a long time... so thank you." He smiled, and lifted me up with precaution. "I did it because I love you."
He slipped my shoes on with his free hand, and smiled. "There, now she's ready." Smiling, I kissed him. After being a little too happy about it, he put me down, and started to kiss back. Being the idiot I was, I didn't really notice that the elevator was open until a co-worker cleared her throat.
At the moment, I blushed bright red, and Jake guided me out of the elevator. "Come on now, embarrassed, are you?"
"Knock it off." I said, almost storming off. He laughed, and walked a bit faster to catch up.

They were getting closer to the door when Jake grabbed Kai's hand and squeezed it tight.
This was love. He thought, as the emotions ran through his body. It was his first and last love. He knew that ever since the first time he saw her. This must be love. He thought when he first talked to her. This is what I wanted. He thought when he stroked her hair while she was sleeping. I've longed for this day. He thought when he was told Kai was pregnant. I love you. He thought when he proposed.
This was love. She thought when he held her tight. This will be my first and last love. She knew that ever since they shared emotions during a kiss. This must be love. She thought when he carried her to bed. This is what I wanted. She thought when he let her sob in his shoulders. I've longed for this day, she thought when he proposed. I love you. She thought when he traced her belly with his left hand.
Now the doors were to open. Jake and Kai stood briefly in front of the tinted doors. And now, this was the moment. Jake, picked Kai up in his arms, like a husband would for his wife, and prepared for the doors to open. The doors creaked, and the sunlight hit their faces. All the cheerful faces shining brightly as they stood in front of the limo. "Madam. Sir." Peter said, opening the door for them. Kai thanked him, and took a seat inside. The door almost immediately closed as soon as both of them sat down, and car drove off. Jake looked up, and smiled at Kai, in which he received back.
"Apple juice?" He said, pouring a cup. she laughed. "Sure." He smiled, satisfied that she got a laugh out of that one. He handed her the glass cup and smiled. "All this for my birthday? Why?"
"Haven't I already told you that?" He said with a smirk. "I feel like I owe you..."
He placed his cup down in the cup holder, and Kai did the same as soon as she saw that Jake would do something romantic. She could always tell he was going to by the shine in his eyes. They were different when he was going to pull something out of his heart, then when they had a normal conversation. "Just being there, by my side through all of this, is enough." He said, his hot breath on her lips. After a few seconds, their lips smashed against each others, and they lost track of time.
"We're here." He said smiling. "Should we get out of the car?"
"Do what you like..." Kai responded, running fingers through his hair. "Stay with me." He said, pulling her into his lap. "Will you please?"
Her heart raced. But her mind knew the answer since the beginning. "I'll always be with you."
