"I must say James, you even better since the last time we met." He grinned. "Oh yes, have you met General Gray's wife?"
He looked over at me. "This is Miss Charlotte, and their son Cedric." He looked over at me, and bowed. "It is nice meeting you. I have heard a lot about you." I gently smiled. "Yes, and I have heard about you quite a lot as well Sir James."
"Have you met my wife?" I shook my head, looking at the shy girl. "This is my wife Belle. She's quite the beauty isn't she?" I nodded. "Why yes, she's very beautiful." I could hear music playing, and the General lent out his hand. "Would you like to dance?"
I gently smiled. "I would love to." We walked down to the ballroom floor. "It appears to be the waltz." He said, moving along with me. "Why yes it does."
"I love the way your eyes look right now honey. They're shining brightly." I gently smiled, as he turned. "And you look dashing."
"I'm glad we came to the ball tonight." He said, glancing at the man sitting atop his chair. Mr.Hope. He was here, and the very thought of it made me shiver. That disgusting being is here.
He turned again. "Forget him. I don't think he should even live in a world like this."
"Oh honey, that doesn't seem very kind of you." He said, loud enough for only me to hear. "Well it's true. He should fall off the earth." He chuckled. "Oh if only he can." I felt a tap on my shoulder. "May I have this dance?"
I looked at how kind he looked, green contacts and all. Soon I found myself dancing with him. "May I ask you a question?" I nodded. "Have you moved on?" I shook my head. "And you?"
He gritted his teeth, and dragged me off the floor, through the hallways and up another flight of stairs. He walked into a room, and locked the door behind him. He roughly kissed me and smiled. "I will always love you."
"Oh? What about your wife? Doesn't she need your love?" He started laughing. "That's my sister Wendy. I needed her to get in the ball."
"And you? What about your husband? He seemed fit for the job." I smirked. "Are we getting jealous?" He moved the strap off my shoulders. "I will admit, you did look like a real couple. Especally with that child tagging around."
I chuckled. "Cedric?" Jake nodded. "He looked like he could be the General's real son."
"Relax. We're just a bunch of people that were abandoned."
Jake stayed silent for a moment, and looked at the necklace. "I didn't abandon you."
"For a spare moment you did. You left me alone with no clue as if where you could be. What was I supposed to say?"
He pushed me down on the bed. "I love you Kai. You know I wouldn't do it by choice. I had to."
He kissed my stomach, and I shivered. I sat up. "Jake, this isn't right."
"What is it? We've done it before. And if it's the room, we can just go to a hotel."
I shook my head. "We can't." Jake looked into my eyes. "I can't read your mind. Your going to have to tell me."
I took a deep breath. "I'm pregnant."
His hands loosened, and he looked down onto the sheets. "Jake..."
He pulled me into a hug, and his head buried into my neck. Tears fell out of his eyes and landed onto my skin. "I love you so much."
"I've always wanted to be a daddy."

The General looked over at Jake's wife. "It seems like we're the only ones without a partner."
Belle smiled, and looked over at the General. "It seems we are." He lent out his hand, and lead her towards the middle of the room. She closed her eyes, and listened to the music. "This tune... it's quite lovely. Could it be..."
"The Red Robin?" They both said. The General chuckled. "I thought I was the only one that knew of this song." She shook her head. "No, I've heard of it too."
He turned, and glanced at the hallway where Kai had left. "What's the matter?" He shook his head. "Nothing."
She frowned. "Well it surely can't be nothing if you keep looking."
He sighed, "It's just my wife headed over there earlier and she hasn't been back yet."
She nodded. "Now that you think of it, I cannot find my husband either."
The General looked over the crowd for a mere second, and looked back over at Belle. "I cannot see my son either."
"Oh? Last I saw your son, he was eating a slice of cake." The General chuckled. "Of course he is."
The woman chuckled. "Most little ones do love sweets."
Belle looked at the hallway once more before turning. "I hope they aren't in trouble. I hope they finally made up."
The General nodded. "Charlotte loves him. Maybe it will work out. Love makes you do funny things."
