Cedric was already planning to take my child away from me, even though she wasn't even born yet. I could feel anger flowing through my veins. "But what if it's a boy?" He gently smiled, "Well, I'll become good friends with him."
"And if it's a girl, I'll marry her." The General placed a hand on his head. "You don't know what type of a person she will be when she's older."
"Nope. If it's Kai's child, she'll definitely be sweet." I looked over at the General, finally having the courage to speak up. "Well, you only marry a woman when you love her."
Cedric chuckled. "But I already love her."
There wasn't much to say. Cedric wanted to marry my child when she's older. And he didn't seem like he was going to change his mind. He looked certain, and happy to be so.
"Plus, that would mean Kai and I would actually be family."
The General smiled, and handed a shirt to Cedric. "Here, we'll be going to the ball after all."
After we were all dressed, we looked back at the cave, and we started to head down the path. Cedric held my hand, and looked at my dress. "You look pretty." He said with a smile on his face.
"Thank you. And you look amazing."
The General looked over at my dress. "Kai."
I looked over, a smile still on my face. "We're going to have to pretend to be a couple again."
I gave him a puzzled look. "Everyone is invited to this party, including Mr.Hope."
I gritted my teeth as I heard his name. That bastard. He wasn't helping us. He was supposed to protect us, but instead tried to kill us several times, and not only that, but let a man onto the Island.
"I can see the lights!" Cedric said, as we walked up a small hill."
I nodded. "They are quite bright."
General looked over at Cedric, and then spoke up. "Cedric you'll have to pretend that I am your real dad, and that Kai is your real mom."
He looked over at me, and gently smiled. "Right?" I nodded, watching where I was going.
After a short minute, we stood in front of the castle. "Here." I looked over, as he placed a ring on my finger. "Just in case." He looked at the door. " Now that we've got that covered, let's go." He wrapped a hand around my waist, and started to walk with us. Cedric held onto my hand as we walked in. "Welcome sir." His eyes widened when he saw our small family.
We looked over at the stairs, remembering that we had to walk down and be announced. "welcoming the new newlywed couple and their child, General Gray and his new wife Charlotte."
We started to head down, step by step until we make it down. I could hear the sound of whispering and gasping from the news. That was, when we finally made it down, men and woman swarmed around the three of us, and I squeezed Cedric's hand.
But the General had a good story already up his sleeve, and he told it very realistically that It almost felt real.
I ran across the field, looking around desperately. Suddenly, there was a tap at my shoulder, and I turned around amazed. "Who are you?"
He gently smiled, "That is not important. I am in no way special." I bowed. "I'm sorry!" That was right, with the rules at the community, no one was given a name unless they were proved to be significant to our country in the mere future. This was only decided by the annual ceremony. From then on, you are either named or not. If you weren't named, you would be recognized by your family background.
"No, it's alright. I get that a lot." He handed me a basket. "Here, this would make your job easier."
"And from then on out I fell in love with her." The woman and men smiled, still wanting to know a bit more. "When she was 18, I finally decided to make my move."
"I love you so much Charlotte." I gently smiled. "I love you too." He kissed her roughly, and closed the window he had snuck in through. But it was a long night then, and when the task was over, he looked at me carefully with loving eyes. "I love you so much Charlotte, will you marry me?"
Her eyes widened, and she gently smiled afterwords. "I would love to."
"But," As I said this, his eyes became full of worry, and he looked sad. "My parent's won't allow it. I'm supposed to marry another man who had joined the army."
He gritted his teeth. "Can't you just tell them that you fell in love with me." She shook her head. "I'm afraid I cannot."
"They will not allow me."
"You should at least try." He muttered, dragging fingers through my hair. "You never know."
"So we decided that tomorrow we were going to break the news to her parents, and I was going ask if I was able to have her hand in marriage."
"I wish to marry your daughter." My father looked sternly at the man. "This is outrageous. She is only allowed to fall in love with the man I choose."
"Dad...just please." He shook his head. "I forbid you to visit my daughter."
"So, he sent me out, in the cold winter. And for a while I didn't know what to do until I had a great idea."
I heard a slight tapping on the window, and I looked up and smiled. I opened it, and wrapped my arms around him. "I missed you so much!" I could feel tears fall down my face. "It's alright now. I know what to do."
"So we decided to run away and live and marry secretly."
"Merry Christmas." He said, snuggling closer to me. "Merry Christmas."
"And everything was great. That was... until we found out she was Pregnant."
"You're what?" He asked, putting his coffee cup down. "I'm Pregnant." He smiled. "Is that so?"
"Don't get me wrong, I loved the idea of having a child in our lives. But, that meant she wouldn't ba able to work anymore, and that I would have to work double shifts."
The bed creaked from the new weight. My eyes fluttered open, and looked over at the black shadow. "Honey?"
"It's five in the morning." He flopped next to the girl. "I know, but we got new soldiers and they needed training."
"You've got bags under your eyes."
"I know." He rested his head on her lap, and fell asleep. But when she woke up, he was no longer there, but rather had gone missing. "Honey?"
"I had to go into the war for months, and when I finally reached home, she had gone into labor."
"Aww. That's such a sweet story." The reporter said. "No way! You left and didn't tell me where you'd be!" I crossed my arms making it sound believable. "Fine, I'll make it up to you."
He leaned down, and kissed my lips. Cedric covered his eyes. "Eww."
We chuckled, and heard more commotion. "Welcoming Sir James and his lovely wife Miss Belle."
My eyes widened when I noticed who it was. He noticed me, and was shocked. Especially when he had noticed the wedding ring.
