Defying Broadway Gravity

8) 1st Day!!!

Today's the day!!! I get to go to a Broadway rehearsal! I couldn't hold in my excitement I woke up at 4:00 with pure energy. I felt like I was seven years old again while I was hopping, dancing, and singing around my room.

" Mama Mia
Here I go again
My my
How could I resist you!"

"Honey Honey!"

"You are the dancing dancing queen!
Young and sweet
Only seventeen!"

I mixed a bunch of lyrics up from each song and just had fun! I choose to wear a grey jumper and black pants. I literally just brushed through my hair and left it wavy and down but I put a hair bobble (tie) on my wrist for later. I didn't put any makeup on either I honestly just wanted to go to the theater!

I started singing in the elevator,

"Ha laughed a voice! Ha laughed another! Ha ha ha laughed the Wickersham brothers!"

I made my way over to the underground and bought a ticket all the while singing,

"One short day in the Emerald city!"

On the train some guy actually thought I was singing for money and I got a dollar! I know what your thinking, he must have been some kind of a millionaire (a.n: note the sarcasm 😂)!

By the time I got to the theater it was about 6:00 which meant I was way to early! When I was mindlessly wondering on the streets of New York I found a coffee shop and walked in. The place I found was called Kickerz and looked decent. The line inside the small cafe was ridicules! I stood in line for about thirty minutes until the counter lady asked me what I wanted,

"Ummm... May I please have an Earl grey tea?"

"Sure thing!"

The lady at the counter smiled at me and a couple seconds later handed me a cup with a steamy hot liquid inside.

"Thank you!"

I check my watch to find it is only 7:00 sighing, I walk around until I find a bookstore. I walk in; not expecting to bye anything. That's when it hits me 'I haven't read Wicked before!' I quickly grab a copy of the book and bye it. I spend the rest of my time until rehearsal reading. Who knew Elphaba was born with shark-like teeth? Who knew that Elphaba had a habit of twirling her hair around her finger as she read? Who new the name 'Elphaba' was made up from the initials of the author of the wizard of oz (LFB)?

When the clock turns 8:00 I start to make my way to the theater with my book still in front of my face. I make it to the theater at 8:15 ish. I walk in, still reading, and make my way to the front desk.

"Can I help you?"

The voice rings through my ears and I look up to see a middle-aged women with a fake smile plastered to her face.

"Oh yes, sorry, well my name is Tamsin Gasper and I am here for the Wicked rehearsal."

The lady's face softens when I say this.

"Just go down that hallway on the left and take the second doorway on the right to the practice room."

"Okay, thank you!"

I go to the room I was instructed to go to and find a few people in there already, Director Mantello being one of them.

"Hello!"

I smile at the few people in the room and see Sadie in a corner smiling back. I walk over to her since she is the only person I know here besides the Director. I take my seat and look around, their are about twelve people in here, including myself. I scan the people for any other familiar faces and find none.
