When I walk into my apartment I immediately start to panic when I look at the clock. It is 3:40 which means I have and hour and ten minutes to get ready! I run into my bathroom and turn the shower on then run to my closet and throw the door open.

"What to wear, what to wear," I mumble to my self. I look through all of my things and find nothing that screams 'I am going to see Legally Blond on Broadway!'

I get so desperate I bang my head agains my door frame a couple times, until I spot something pink on the floor in the corner of my closet. I bend down and pick up two shoes that I have never worn in my life. The shoes were a gift from my one high school friend. She wanted me to stop being shy and to stand out so she took me to the mall to buy 'a brand new look.'

Her name was Cassie and she is the only one who knows about my dark secrets. I try to keep in touch with her but it's hard since she lives all the way across the USA. After high school she went to medical school where she is still at. During high school I never got to see her since she is two years older than me but she is like the older sister I never had.

I grab a skirt that matches the shoes and look deeper into my closet. Eventually I find a cream lace tank-top that looks quite nice with the pink skirt and shoes. I take my outfit into the bathroom with me, including my undergarments.

I get out of the bathroom with thirty minutes to spare on my hair. I spend a couple minutes browsing the Internet, trying to find a hair-do that would best-suit the occasion. After choosing a messy bun with a braid and fishtail brads going into it I get to work. I have always loved to play with my hair so it was fairly easy for me to do my hair after it was blowdried.

I hear a firm knock on the door and I rush over to open it then run back into my main room, gesturing for Kyle to follow. I grab my purse, a scarf, and jacket before I turn to take in Kyle's breath- taking appearance. Usually the woman in a relationship is the one who looks the best out of the two but I must say that Kyle looks a hell of a lot better than I do. Wait... Relationship?

Kyle looks like Jane and Michael Banks when they first meet Marry Poppins when he stares at me with an open mouth. But I am far from practically perfect. I blush a dark pink and pray that Kyle doesn't notice.

"You look...nice," Kyle says sheepishly.

"Are you sure? It took you quite a long time to come up with a word to describe my appearance," I joke.

"Well I...." Kyle begins.

"Relax Kyle! I was only joking," I laugh and this time it is Kyle's turn to blush.

"Shall we leave then," Kyle asks in an attempt to change the subject.

I oblige with his sudden change of conversation, "we shall!"

Kyle walks outside to hail a cab and I smirk, "don't you have a car?" Kyle looks at me and his hand goes up to scratch his head, "it's in the shop, I popped a tire..." I laugh, "how did you manage that?" Kyle grins, "I would like to say it's a fascinating story but I ran over a nail."

After trying to get a cab for five minutes I give in to the evilness of being impatient. I put two fingers (my thumb and pointer finger) into my mouth and blow, hard to create a loud high pitched noise. A cab screeches to a stop beside us and Kyle and I rush into it before anyone els can. "Why didn't you do that five minutes ago," Kyle mumbles. I role my eyes and elbow him in the ribs with a smile resting on my lips that is catching onto Kyle's as well. Kyle whispers a location to the driver and off we go through the crowded streets of NYC, the city of dreams.

We pull up in front of "Ellen's Stardust Diner" ( )and Kyle smiles. "This is where I used to work," he smiles, "so I get a discount." I laugh, "what is this place," I ask. Suddenly Kyle stares at me like I have a second head and for all I know I might. "You mean to say that you have never been to Ellen's Stardust Diner?" I look at him incomplete confusion, "yes?" Kyle grabs my arm and drags me in.
