It has started to get colder as the month turns to October which means it is time to get the jackets, scarfs, and hats out! I walk outside to go to the theater in my bulky black jacket and skip breakfast. When I get to the theater I just walk past Ms. Prather without saying a word and go straight to the practice room. I start warming up with some scales until Sadie walks in,
"Hey Tamsin! How was your.... Get together with Kyle?"
I smile and look off into space remembering the events of last night. Sadie snaps her fingers in front of my face which pulls me out of my trance,
"Amazing!" I blush and walk away before she can question me anymore.
I watch Kyle walk in and pretend not to notice him and continue with my warm ups. Soon rather than later, Kyle walks up to me with a smile on his face. I look up into his big blue eyes, "well someone looks happy," I remark. Kyle just smiles with his hands behind his back, "my happiness will soon spread!" I give Kyle a confused look and he covers my eyes with one hand. When Kyle lifts his hand off of my eyes I see him holding a light blue shirt that says "Mama Mia" across it."for your collection," is all he says. I stare at Kyle aghast, "how did you know about my t-shirt collection?" Kyle smirks, "you have Broadway T- shirts hanging up in your room and I figured they must all be from the musicals you have seen. You also did not have a Mama Mia one so here." Kyle tosses me the shirt which I catch easily. "Thank you so much Kyle," I say very sincerely, "you have no idea how much this means to me..." I look at Kyle and he has an emotion on his face I can not decipher. I flung myself into a hug with Kyle and hold back the tears that threaten to spill from my eyes. "No problem?" Kyle says (question mark was intended). I kiss Kyle on the cheek when I pull away, "thank you," I say once more.
We practice the 'One Short Day' scene until lunch. During our brake I am set on practicing the Oz Dust Ballroom scene by myself so I can get the awkwardness down. I wait until I believe everyone has left to start practicing.
I begin the first movement when I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turn around to find Kyle, "aren't you going to lunch?" He asks me. My heart plummets at the sound of food which I had completely forgotten I needed. I sigh, "I was going to stay and practice the oz du-" Kyle cuts me off, "Do you want to go get some food from the restaurant across the street?" The look I his eye tells me I can not say no, "why?" I ask him, "why do you want we to go?" Kyle looks at his shoes as he brushes his hand through his hair, "well I thought I would like get to know you better." I give Kyle a look that says 'tell me the truth' and he looks down at his shoes, "Director Mantello wants me to get to know you better?" I give him another look that says, 'the full truth' Kyle sighs, "fine! Director Mantello thinks you need to eat some more!..." What follows that is silence.
Tears start to brim my eyes. I knew this would happen! I knew they would want someone els to be Elphaba rather than me. I knew and know I am Brocken far beyond were they can fix me. "I'm sorry Tamsin," Kyle pulls me into a hug as I dry my tears. I pull away from Kyle's welcoming arms and smile the best I can, "let's go!" I say while faking my happiness just like I did in high school... every day...

The restaurant is called 'the Palm' (a.n: this is a real place I went there when I was in New York) right across from the Gershwin. We sit down at a table near the pianist in the bar. The pianist is a kind looking older man (a.n: this is a real person I met he is EXTREMELY talented and has an album out that I will post a picture of in the next chapter!) that has a true talent for music. I look around the restaurant at all of the pictures on the wall. Their are hundreds (maybe thousands) of famous faces pasted onto the wall with small body's attached. I look around for people I know on the walls but before I can find anyone our waiter walks up, "hello and what can I start you off with?" He asks us and we tell him what we want to drink and eat. I am getting a small sandwich.
When the song the pianist is playing ends I am the only one in the whole restaurant clapping for him until Kyle joins in after I nudge him in the ribs. The pianist smiles at me and continues playing.
A different waitress comes out to give us our food. She looks at me and dose a double take. "You have something green on your chin, right there," she points to a spot on her own chin but I don't even bother, "I know, it will not come off," I smile at her as she walks away in confusion. I eat half of my sandwich and wait for Kyle to finish eating his own before we both pay. I watch Kyle get up but instead of walking to the door I walk to the piano and put a ten dollar bill in his tip jar and give the pianist another big smile, "good afternoon," I say before I leave.
When I return to the theater we work on dancing through life for a while. I am slightly board as they practice the dancing portion in the beginning of the song. After Dancing Through Life Joe Mantello announces how we are working on No One Mourns the Wicked next so I get to go home early. I walk home and fall asleep early without a meal.
