Asher's POV

Potions class... It's not terrible, but it's not my favorite class. After this is the break though, so that's good. Sitting up I try my hardest to focus on Uncle Dray as he tried not to rage at the student in front of him.

He has been extremely stressed the last 2ish weeks.  I rush to get my notes down when a knock at the door distracts me.  Shooting my head over that way I stare curiously at Sev who had his usual unhappy look.

"Yes?" Uncle Dray asks standing up from the kid's desk. "The headmaster had to leave for a conference and I must take her spot so I'm leaving you with my class" he smirks turning around to leave before Dray could object.

Sev's class files in not long after, making Draco flop into his chair rubbing his eyes.  "Dang what happen to you" a charming voice laughs.  I look back up to see Atlas poking his dad.

"Oh it's you" Uncle Draco sighs before standing up.  "Okay find a seat and if there isn't enough seats... sit somewhere or stand in the back" he instructs them as the kids standing, rush to find an open chair.

Atlas just stands by his dad his eyes sweeping over the class a menacing look on his face.  I look around as well kids groaning when they realize there were no more seats.  Some just sit on the floor next to their friends while others lean against the back wall.

Turning back to Atlas I meet his eyes causing me to flinch and look away. I wearily bring my gaze back up to his. I shouldn't be this awkward around my best friend.... okay but usually people aren't in love with their best friends.

Is that to much saying I'm in love with him. Okay focusing. Looking at him again this time he was looking over to a a group of girls from my class. They waved and he sent a small wave back winking at them.

I shrunk back in my seat as the girls began giggling. Draco swatted him on the head and he rubbed the now sore spot. His eyes flickering back up to mine. I waved as well to shy to call out to him. The group of girls snicker to each other and I sigh attempting to hide my face.

He doesn't seem to notice and waved back with a smirk.  "Just go over there and leave me alone while I cry in my seat" Uncle Dray sighs flopping back into the seat.

Atlas immediately starts to walk over and peaks over at the other girls who quickly looked away.  Once Atlas's gaze left them they shot me menacing scowls.  Atlas is hot.... I am not... he's tall, muscular, healthy.  I'm definitely not any of those.

Atlas stood in front of me a cheeky smile on his face. "There's no where for you to sit" I stutter looking around. He turns to the person in front of me. A Gryffindor boy I didn't really know that well. "Hey, you! Give me your seat" He growls making the kid quickly jump up.

"Atlas don't terrorize my class" his dad yells at him before going back to doing some sort of paperwork.  Atlas turns in the seat so he can face me, placing his arms on my desk.

"How are you doing?" He asks grabbing my arm.  "At the moment I think I'm okay" I whisper hating when other people can hear what I'm saying.  "Only okay?" He continues his thumb rubbing across my sleeve.

"What else can I be" I smile, expecting him to laugh, but instead his drops.  "I want you to feel perfect" he whispers and I bite the inside of my cheek. "That's a lot of effort" I joke getting a serious glare instead.

"Ash I want you to be happy" he gives me a concerned look. "I am happy, I just overthink sometimes" I tell him honestly and he nods. "Yeah and I want to erase those thoughts" he grumbles as I just sit in silence unsure of what to say next.

"Hey Atlas" one of the girls from the group before giggles propping her hand on my desk. I quickly take my hand back to give her more room. Turning to me she looks me up and down an obvious fake smile. "And uh hello Asher?" She practically spits at me as I lay back farther in my seat "h-hello" I stutter once again.

"Hey it's Sylvia right?" Atlas asks his face going blank again. She nods the smile on her face becoming even brighter. "Well anything you need?" He questions, raising an eyebrow.

"We wanted to know if you would like to come sit with us instead" she giggles again pointing to the group of girls. I look back up from my desk trying to hide my disappointment.... she's a Slytherin he would get along better with her anyway.

"Go ahead" I mouth flashing him a smile. He gives me a strange look before looking back up to the girl "Yeah.. some other time, for now leave me alone" he shoos her away.

She lets out a scoff, before going back to the other girls, purposely swaying her hips. "I swear that group of girls is constantly getting on my nerves" he groans. I just nod. "Did you really think I would go with them" he jokes.

My eyes widening "oh I'm- of course not" I laugh with him. The look on his face told me that he knew I was lying. Taking a deep breath he grabs my hand "Asher..... you know I l-" he gets cut off by his dad "ok students you're dismissed get out of my class"

Kids immediately dash for the door while I stand putting my stuff neatly into my bag. "What were you saying" I question him and he just shakes his head. "Nothing don't worry" Smiling he hands me my quill.

"I'm going to go talk to dad meet me outside okay" Atlas quickly adds. I nod in response heading straight out the door.  Closing it behind me knowing their conversation was probably going to be private.

"Hey" somebody shouts,  I ignore it assuming they aren't talking to me.  "Asher kid!" The girl shouts louder and I freeze... fiddlesticks.... what did I do this time!  Turning around slowly I hug my backpack to my chest.

The Sylvia girl comes up to me a smile still plastered on her face and her other three friends behind her.  Just my luck "hello" I whisper not making eye contact.

"You like him don't you" she sighs playing with her nails. "W-who" I stutter my face becoming one of confusion. "Atlas, it's pretty obvious" a girl beind her pipes in after rolling her eyes.

"He feels pity for you that's all" Sylvia takes the lead.  I hang my head my arms squeezing around my backpack.  "I think we all do" she giggles as another one of the girls jumps in "as soon as you die... nobody is going to mention your name ever again" they go silent for a bit probably regretting the words that left their mouth. One of them starts to laugh and soon they all join in saving themselves from the awkward moment.

I bite my lip trying to hold back the tears that were already streaming down my face.  "I-I know" I answer and their laughing goes silent.  "Um... well then I suggest you leave Atlas alone" she continues not expecting the answer I gave her.

"I think the fuck not!" A booming voice shouts making me flinch back. "If anybody is going to leave me alone it's you! You're all fucking bastards" Atlas shouts pushing through the crowd of girls.

"If I ever see any of you again I won't hesitate to beat your fucking arses!" He begins laughing I could tell without looking that his expression was definitely crazy. If Atlas was some sort of criminal or bad guy.... he would be a good one.

"Wait- but-" one of them starts to mumble getting shut down fast. "I don't give two shits if you're girls... if you really care that much I have plenty of sisters that would love to get a few punches in.... not to mention his cousins" he continues laughing maniacally.

I could practically hear the girls shaking "now scram!" He yells again wrapping his arm around me. I could tell all eyes were on us and I felt my breathing start to pick up just from the attention.

A groups of footsteps ran off as a door opened. "Hey dad" Atlas chuckled as I just hung my head "damn you can be scary. You're kinda like your papa sometimes" he mumbles.

"Just wanted to make sure their wasn't any blood" Uncle Dray chuckles before closing the door. "You okay" he asks me turning to kiss the top of my head. I nod shoving my head into his chest. Hiding the tears that were flooding down my face.

"A-Atlas I lo-" my confession gets cut off as he sweeps an arm around my waist.

"What else did they say to you"

"Nothing"
