Ron's POV

"Go faster mommy!" Isla shouts as I run around with her on my back. Imani watches with wide eyes, bouncing impatiently. "I wanna go now!" She whines and I run around the couch one more time before letting my daughter slide off.

"Big jump" I smile and Imani wraps his arms around my neck. I start to run all over again. "Damn I better get abs from this" I laugh at myself getting hit lightly on the head. "Bad word!" Imani shouts and a gasp comes from Isla. "Bad word!" She repeats.

"Sorry, mommy didn't mean to" I apologize quickly, knowing they would go off like repeating alarms if I didn't. "It made Imani go quiet, but Isla just continued repeating bad word as I internally groaned. "She said sorry sissy!" Her twin saves me.

I let out a breath of relief and run around with the girl a little more. "More! More! More!" Both shout reaching up for me. "Can mommy go make some lunch?" I ask looking at the time. "I guess so..." Imani trails off and I give her and her sister a peck on the head.

"We can play tag afterward" I coo and that immediately hyped them up. "Stay out here... with Herb!" I volunteer him as I see him coming from down the hallway.

He looks up with wide eyes before nodding vigorously. "Friends!" He cheers and I chuckle walking towards the kitchen. "Sorry to interrupt what you were doing I'll be quick if somebody else comes out you can leave" I thank him already back through the door.

I try to think of some games I can play to preoccupy them. We can always do hide and seek. Imani gets scared when she can't find anybody though and then Isla immediately runs to go help her. So that hardly works.

I might as well stick with the tag. If we play tag they get tired and that equals nap time for them. Which means nap time for me. Plus I get a workout in. "Daddy! Daddy!" "Daddy's home" the girls cheer as I drop whatever food I was holding. It's only noon he shouldn't be home.

"Isla! Imani!" I shout running through the door and straight to my girls who were jumping on the couch. I didn't care how heavy they were now, I lifted and stepped back towards the hall.

I'm met with Blaise giving me a questioning look as the girls squirm in my arms. "Please relax for a minute monkeys, mommy needs to check something " I plead with them and they seem to understand. Blaise on the other hand gave me a confused look as I tried to see any difference.

"Why are you back so early?" I pry and I think he got what was going on because he sighed. "We've lost too many people in the 'safety' of our home" I call out and he just nods into his hand.

"Buttercup, I quit" he smiles at me with a sad smile. "No- why?!" I shout backing away even more. "It was hurting you guys way too much- this- this is a perfect example of what I don't want- that job is not worth what's happening right now!" he yells as I look down at the girls in my arms.

I set them down and both hold onto my pants unsure of what to do. "Can you go to your room for mommy... please?" I ask them. "For mommy!" Imani cheers lifting the mood and both runoff. I watch them go with a smile. "I'll be there soon" I call before looking back to my husband.

"Babe I'm sorry" I apologize looking around to find Herb awkwardly making his way out of here. I sigh but walk over to him. "I'm really sorry, I mean it" I continue putting a hand on his cheek.

"It's okay, I understand" he huffs looking down at me. I bring my other hand to his chest and smile. "You really didn't need to quit" I repeat anyways but he shakes his head. "I hated those people anyways" Blaise admits as I chuckle.

"Well, I'm just saying it's a hard dealing with these 'people' as well" I joke nodding towards the hall the twins had disappeared down. "I think I can manage" he whispers wrapping his arms around my lower back.
