Chapter 96

Sorry this is actually an awful chapter, it's all over the place.

June 26th

Atlas's POV

"Listen Atlas you have to do what you must to get out preferably not hurt" Papa whispers looking to the area in front of us. "This must be some sort of joke" he chuckles shaking his head. "What Papa?" I ask pulling him back into a hug. "My last task was a maze too" he sighs. Before I can say anything I'm attacked by my other siblings.

I give them the biggest hugs I can before looking around for the others. Lev was kissing Jax and as they pulled away Jax placed their forehead against his. "You better be safe, no deforming your beautiful face" they joke as I make my way to Iris, letting them have their moment.

Emerald was hugging her as Ivy and a scared Kiara stood next to them. "What's going on?" I asked extremely tired.  "My parents are here" Kiara whispers and I look around the stands even though I ha don idea who they were.

"Why!" Em whisper-shouts as Ivy pulls her girlfriend into her grip. "They weren't proud of what I placed the last few times" she trembles.  I shake my head at this. "Where's Asher?" His name made my heart pang.

"In the bleachers, they don't want him to affect my skills" I huff as she gives me a sympathetic look. "Did you hear the news!" Em jumps in smacking her head. "I can't believe I forgot that easily" she groans to herself.

"Mimi stepped down, she's refusing to do this task, actually 2 of the 3 headmasters are refusing to do it, but since it was already set in stone they can't do anything" she whispers as we all look around for McGonagall. I found her in the stands as if she was someone just watching the event.

She sat next to Asher who laid against her shoulder just wanting to be comforted. "They refused to tell Dad about the task as well" she continues and I bit my lip. "All families leave arena! Competitors line up!" A brute voice calls as we give each other weird looks besides Rawlings and Lev who face palmed.

"Our headmaster!" He shouts over to us as we all stood side by side facing our families.  The eerie hedge maze standing behind us. Not even seconds later our teachers were facing us each with a velvet cushion in theirs grips.  A small dark green potion, one for each of us.

"Step forward, and take the elixir" he calls. "What's in this!?" Rawlings speaks up as our shaky hands reach for it. "Yeah, I'm not taking it unless I know!" One of the girls protest.  "Reach the end of the maze and find the antidote" he continues his shouting as we all just stare at each other in worry.

"5" "4" he begins to count down and the panic sets in. "Okay, guys I'll go first" I turn trying to reassure them all as they give me worried looks. I know we're in our older teens, but we're still just kids.

He stops his counting and I take the top of of the vile, slowly bringing it to my lips. "Here we go" I whisper before taking it in two drinks. I drop the vile and shake my head. "Sour" I mutter to the others.

Iris smiles and nods at me. "Are you okay?" She asks tears in her eyes. "I'm okay," I tell her, and soon after the others begin to drink theirs the same reactions as mine. "Don't tell me to calm down! What did you just give my daughter" we all look up to the noise and find Blaise trying to get down, he wasn't alone either.

My Dad was there, many parents were. Attempting to get down. "You did not just give those children..." my father cuts himself off knowing he was going to freak us out. "Students you may begin the maze, we will see you at the end" the voice breaks our gaze.

We all freeze for a minute before making a break for the one entrance. "Kiara come with me!" Dot shouts grabbing the scared girl's arm. They turn to the left as I lunge for Iris. "Iris we're going to stick together okay," I tell her and she nods looking around with worry.
