Asher's POV

I tiptoe down the stairs, at the moment happy I pulled some socks on, because it was cold. The manor was quiet with everyone asleep. I was trying to be quick, yet quiet. Right now I was scared out of my mind being alone, but I couldn't sleep.

I thought about going to my parents but I know I should be over the whole running to my parents stage. I'm technically an adult now, and I've heard their talks about no longer babying me. Which I guess I should be happy about because I always wanted to be treated normally.

I dashed down the hall landing on my toes to quiet my steps. I quickly open the door closing it behind me. Pressing my back against the door breathing heavily. Shouldn't have run.

"Ash?" Atlas calls for me and I look to the bed to see him sitting up his wand in hand. "Yeah- hi" I take a moment to breathe and he tosses his wand down before sliding off the bed.

I take a deep nose breath before walking over to him. "Did I wake you?" I ask apologetic and he shakes his head. "No I couldn't sleep, so I was just doing simple spells with my wand" he admits and I nod hugging him.

"What happen?" He asked and I just shrugged. "Couldn't sleep either" I huff and he nods rubbing a hand over my unmanageable curls. "Well, we need to fix that because tomorrow is Lyra's birthday and we're going to have her chaotic friend group over" he chuckles intertwining his hand with mine.

"Yeah but I don't know how" I whisper looking up to him, hoping he had some genius idea.  "Want to go outside?" He asked and I didn't hold back my stare. "Outside? Why?" I ask rocking back and forth.

"Let's stargaze, that's always relaxing" he suggests hugging me. "You won't leave me out there right?" I ask even though I knew the answer. I think I just needed the reassurance. "Of course not!" He whisper-shouts giving me a worried look.

"Okay... let's go" I smile going onto my toes to kiss him. He smiles down at me before grabbing my hand and leading me out of the room and down the hall. I shift and hold on tightly to his arm not enjoying the eerie feeling.

Herb comes over groggy as ever and Atlas pats his head. "Go back to bed, I got the door" he assured him getting a stern head shake. "You wish, I won't ever let you beat me" Herb laughs opening the door for us.

"Be safe friends" he sings and I give him a small wave. Atlas walks us off of the porch and onto the grass of the front yard. It was humid out and when he went onto his back, I followed, the grass not quite damp but cooler.

The crickets were basically the only thing you could hear along with the wind. I put my hands over my stomach and looked up at the dark sky. "It's kind of perfect, no clouds" he chuckles and I nod looking over at him.

"Atlas" I call for him and he stops staring at the sky to look at me. "What's up?" He asks scooting closer. "I love you" I remind him and his smile widens before moving his arm under my back pulling me into his side.

"I love you too" he answers. I smile at the reassurance. Looking back up to the sky. "Do you see those stars?" He asked pointing. I look over the top of his fingers and nodded. "That's dads" he laughs and I look at the stars. It looks like a weird string.

"It's a dragon- a very simple dragon" he explains and I flip around to look at him. "Can you hear my thoughts" I laugh and he shakes his head laughing as well.

"I just never believed dad when he told me it was a dragon" he explains. "I can definitely see that, you're incredibly stubborn" I huff getting a quick kiss. "You love me" he mocks and I nod, giving him him another longer kiss. "Sadly" I pull away and lay down, getting a hurt gasp.

Chuckling, Atlas shifts his hand to point again. "You can't see Lyra and Seren just means star so she's everywhere and..." he trails off looking around the night sky.

"There," I watch him point and look to another string of stars. "That's Taurus" he whispers staring harshly at it. "I really have no imagination... isn't that suppose to be a bull" I sit up to stare at the stars trying to connect the dots.

"Maybe we're just old..." he sighs and I lightly punch his arm. "No it's just me, I know you can see it, which is amazing really" I giggle and he sits up embarrassed. "A-anyways the one and only Atlas star cluster is up there" he shrugs it off and I shake my head-hugging him.

"You don't need to be embarrassed- it's cool that you can see it, I'm just no fun" I admit. "Angel that's not true" he hums looking down at me. "Sure... what about me is fun?" I ask and he pulls me into his arms. "You have the bubbliest personality and that makes you fun to be around" he coos and I purse my lips not believing him.

I turn around to enjoy the night sky again. "It's a full moon I wonder if Uncle Remus is okay," I ask looking at the main source of light. "You know how strict he is with his medicine, he should be fine" Atlas reassured me taking a deep breath of the fresh air.

I made my way over to him and crawled into his lap. "You know it's like 4 am right?" He reminds me putting his hands on my hips. "I know- but I can't sleep" I whine, looking straight into his eyes.

"Hmm well what can I do to make you sleepy," he asked kissing my cheek. I smile letting him leave more kisses on my jaw and neck. "I don't know" I breathe out and he grabs my chin to make me look down at him before putting his lips onto mine.

Kissing back I put my arms over his shoulders. Atlas rolls us over before leaving me on my back. I breathe heavily, and he goes on his back, wrapping his arm around me.

"You know one day... we could do this at a house of our own" he chuckles making me go silent. "Really?" I ask looking over at him. He nods and I turn into his side.

"One day Ash... we could get married, ya know" he chuckles nervously and I nodded again nuzzling myself farther into his warmth. His voice making me groggy, yet his words made my heart race.

"We could do things like this every night, nobody else would get in the way" he exhales, his arm rubbing up and down my side. I closed my eyes listening to him talking about the future. A future I was actually excited for.

Atlas's POV

He fell asleep quickly after my rambling, so I gave him a few minutes before shifting out of his grip. Once I was out I stretched my arms and back before squatting down.

Putting my arms underneath him I lift him into my chest causing him to stir a bit. "Erm, it's okay go to bed" I coo kissing his forehead. "Where- where are we going?" He asked letting his head drop and eyes close.

"I'm taking us to bed" I start to walk towards the door getting a tired smile from him. "That- that is good- I will marry you by the way" he hums turning in my arms.

"Is that so?" I laugh and he nods. "Mhmm only when you ask but I would say yes" he yawns and ultimately falls back to sleep by the time I make it to the door.

Herb opens the door for us and I give him a nod before mouthing thank you. He nods back and I quickly walk the sleeping boy back to my room. I opened the door kicking it closed with my foot.

Crawling into bed with Ash I wrap my arms around around his waist before pulling him in for a kiss. I pull away and smile before he's cuddling into my chest.

"One day, I will ask, but for now you're my boyfriend and I'm fine with that" I chuckle kissing the top of his head. I rock us back and forth enjoying his company.

"Me and you together- even if it's just us I wouldn't care" I coo still not feeling tired. I'm going to have to get up soon anyways. Lyra is going to want to do things and have a birthday breakfast. I told her I would make a 'guest appearance' for her friends. I just need to sleep so I can enjoy this wonderful boy in my arms.

"Goodnight Angel"
