Atlas's POV
"I can't believe they are making me do this" I grumble readjusting the child on my hips. "How do you think we feel!" The twins shout looking at the sleeping girls in their arms. "I'm happy I don't have siblings" Asher giggled staying close to me.
"We blame you" Iris sneers before turning to walk away Imani in her arms, Ivy quickly follows. Papa has to go on a hunt for new doctors and Dad was working, of course, so instead of taking Emerson, they gave him to me. Usually, I'm fine with it, but I'm in fucking school now!
Uncle B thought it was hilarious so he gave Isla and Imani to their older sisters who were too busy laughing at my misery to see what was going on.
Now here I was standing in the hallway with my bored baby brother on my hip. Wolfie and his other toys were in my dorm room that I never actually slept in.
None of us ever used our dorm rooms because we are... privileged. A.K.A. dad whines to Mimi about it for a while and she finally gave in when he let her hold baby EJ.
"Hey EJ" Ash whispers taking me out of my moody thoughts as the toddler turned to look at him. "Hewo" he whispers not use to his surroundings. He's come to school with us many times, but most of the time it's straight to dad's room, classroom, great hall, some of the other professors' classrooms.
"Do you want to go get breakfast now?" Asher whispers back looking between the baby and me. I just smile at them both Emerson quickly nodding. "Can we get food Atwas?" He turns to ask me and I nod.
A huge smile spreads over his face and he smiles turns back to Ash. "Okie I can get food" he informs Ash who was giggling pretending he hadn't just heard EJ ask me. "Oh, that's good!" Ash cheers giving him a closed eye smile.
With that, we make our way to the great hall the doors just starting to open as the small group of students file in. I hold Ash back for a minute so he doesn't get trampled by the impatient and hungry students. Ivy and Iris of course at the front of this line with their sisters still fast asleep in their arms.
I sigh looking around for any other familiar faces. Lyra always came late to breakfast with her group of friends. Seren either eats in the library with breakfast she packed herself or she comes in later with.... ughh Aaron. Emerald practically skips in everyday running over to kiss her girlfriend before aiming to sit by me.
My Dad who is too busy stressing over papers is oblivious to it all. I just stare at him in utter amazement while gramps tries to get his attention. That's the usual start of the day here.
Today was going to be different with this little guy here. Pulling him up I give him a small kiss on the head before taking my hand from Ash and walking into the great hall. I immediately make eye contact with Dad who was smiling at me sending me a quick wink.
If I could I would flip him off, but no that's not appropriate. I silently walk Ash over to his usual spot and he sits on the end turning to talk to me. "You and your dad are so similar" he giggles covering his smile.
"We are most definitely not" I groan the child in my arms repositioning himself. "Hewo daddy!" He shouts and I whip around to see him waving to Dad who was sending him a smaller wave back. By now all the students who were in the hall were staring at us curiously.
"Do you want your child back?" I shout incredibly irritated. "Nah you keep him" he smirks, Mimi and gramps stand up. "I'll take him!" They both shout sending each other fighting glances.
"No, it will be more entertaining this way" Dad speaks up as EJ starts to grab at my face. I quickly flip him off not caring how unprofessional it was getting a few gasps from other students as I flip back around to Ash who had a surprised look on his face.
I could hear Dad burst out into a fit of laughter before he goes quiet after a loud smack meaning he got smack across the head. "Wow, Snapey poo-" he groans holding his head. "You really never mature" gramps sighs as I shrug my shoulders.
"That wasn't nice Atlas" Asher whispers, more kids starting to file in. "Eh, he deserved it" I sigh tugging at one of his curls. "Atwas I hungy" my brother whines looking up to me. "Okay we will go sit by Emmy, and then food will be here soon" I whisper, he nods turning to search for Em.
"I'll see you after breakfast, I love you" I whisper in his ear giving him a small peck on the cheek making sure it wasn't extremely noticeable. Once again his face turns a crimson color as he stares down at the table in front of him. "I love you too" he whispers back and I turn to make my way over to my usual spot.
"Who's that?" Emerson gasps his tiny fingers pointing to a guy in my spot. Next to my sister. My very gay sister. "That right there is a git" I whisper as EJ's eyes go wide. "Git?" He whispers back excited he had discovered a new word.
"Yeah, can you call him that for me?" I whisper as we make our way closer Emerald leaning on her hand a very not interested look on her face. "Git! Git! Git!" The toddler shouts making me put a hand over his mouth. "Not right now and we have to be quieter" I shush him and he smiles staring at the boy.
"Out of my seat", I warn him the smirk on his face only leaving when he looks over to me. "But what if I want this seat?" He laughs already pissing me the fuck off.
"Listen hear as much as I'd like to beat the f- sh-snot out of you... I'm in no mood for your sh- stuff today, I won't because I know Em can fight her own battles" I stop my cussing, which was harder than I thought to glance at Emerson who was attempting his best angry face.
"Now if my lovely sister would stop breaking people's hearts so I can have my seat that would be nice" I continue whipping my head to look at Em who rolls her eyes. The guy stops his glaring and turns back to Emerald.
"He's right I was hoping to have a nice conversation, but you're kinda boring.... plus my girlfriend has been glaring at you from her table over there" she points to a very pissed-off Iris who was now holding Isla's hand as she tried to run away.
"Of course I forgot your whole family's fucking gay" he growls going to stand up. I smile happy to get my seat back but he's quickly pulled back down by his wrist. "See I don't like how you said that... it kinda seemed like you were insulting gays and my family" she giggles innocently, but I could tell by the way he looked at his wrist she had a tight grip.
"So I suggest you apologize to me before I break your wrist" she blinks any cool she had was now gone. I took a step back... I just want my fucking spot. "Ow!y-yeah sorry!" He shouts trying to pry her off of his wrist.
She releases him and he quickly stands holding up his now injured wrist "Git!" EJ shouts giggling afterwards as Em gives him a high five. "Good job buddy" she snickers while I happily sit down in my spot.
The Slytherin boy ran out of the hall as I bounced my baby brother in my lap. I nudge my sister pointing to her girlfriend. They start this weird conversation thing with their eyes and all of a sudden Emerald bites her lip making me smack her across the head.
She scowls slapping me back, ready to try and fight me, but the food starts to appear on the table. Of course Iris when straight to eating followed by Emerald. "Wait I want Ashy" Emerson whispers trying to get out of my lap.
"Ashy?" I laugh at the not-so-nice nickname. "Yup I want eat with Ashy!" He repeats successfully getting to the floor. "Can you get there by yourself?" I ask and he nods already running off. I watch him praying he doesn't trip. He does good and I look to dad who's staring at his toddler running across the great hall with a concerned face. I just snicker to myself but continue watching until I see Ash pull him into his lap.
They start to talk and EJ quickly grabs some food.
"Look at that Emerson has a boyfriend"
"Wait-"
