Asher's POV

"Gin I don't know why you keep trying, you can't brush his hair- like you keep saying it's just like mine" Kingsley grows bored of watching her try to comb out my hair. He sat in the chair across from us with his usual cup of alcohol while I sat on the couch Ginny behind me.

"Excuse me for trying to help him" she holds her head high tugging roughly at my roots. I've just leaned to stay quiet and only speak when spoken to. I'd cried if I said anything anyways. I was a bottle full of emotions.

"Look how fluffy it is" she smiles just using her hands at this point. I take a glance over to him and he had his finger on his lip giving us a playful smile. I knew he had already drank a little today, so the smallest thing could set him off. "As I said before Gin, I know. He has the same hair as mine" he repeats looking between us.

"Yeah but he actually takes care of his" she snorts getting an eye roll from him. "W-what exactly are we w-waiting for?" I ask even though I just told myself I wouldn't speak up. "Well your boyfriend of course! I had your daddy go through all the men appropriate for your age at his business" she rushes over to him and jumps in his lap.

His eyes immediately go to his drink that he stares at in a panic. Sighing in relief when it doesn't spill. He takes a content sip before laying his eyes on me. "My club runs underneath the house but the only way in is from somewhere outside. So he needs to get through some security" he rolls his cup around listening to the ice hit the side of the glass.

"I warned him about bruising, we want you to get healed up so you can start working soon" he explains getting a quick happy kiss from the women on his lap. I nod but then turn into my arm coughing. It was a small fit, every cough burning my throat more.

"W-wat-uh, pl-please" I beg letting my head fall. "What's wrong with him" the man asks as Ginny runs off. "Or don't answer me" he scowls. I'm pushed up, or forced to sit up my back against the couch as she hands me the water.

Taking a sip of the cold water, it instantly cools my throat, but the burning feeling was still there. I open my mouth to breathe easier and held the cup close to my chest. "Ginny answer" his voice was now stern as I focused on my breathing.

I was going to cry, I couldn't stop myself, I was trying so hard not to.  He didn't know. Would he get mad, is he going to hurt me?! Maybe he'll let me go! "He's sick" that's all she says moving the hair out of my face.

I take another drink, sinking back more when he stands. "Take his drink" his voice was stern as he handed her his drink as well. She gave me a pout and help up one finger. I hurried to take one last drink before handing it to her.

I took my time to swallow and kept my eyes to the ground. "Kid, what's wrong with you?" He asked grabbing my chin, forcing me to look at him. Something he loved to do. That's one thing I've learned about him he loved power and from what I've learned about his business he has a lot of it.

"I'm sick" I repeat what Ginny had said and he his grips tighten, his teeth baring. "Sick? As in?" He growls. "Ow, ow, ow!" I cry trying to pry his hands off my face. "Answer me now son!" He shouts as I let my hands fall to my side, my tears falling onto his.

"I'm dying!" I scream admitting the cold hard truth. I'm dying. The room was pretty much silent as his hand drops from my face. I turned away and coughed again grabbing at my throat.

"Explain" he sits next to me while Ginny hands me my water. I greedily take another drink of water gasping for air when I was down. "I-I have Lupus disease... as well as a heart murmur, asthma, and some other smaller thing- my immune system is very weak and my cells suck at fighting back. That's why it's so hard for me to heal" I explain refusing eye contact.

"Ginevra why wasn't I told about this!" He shouts  his anger evident. "I was doing fine! I knew you would never love him when you found out how fucked up he was!" She yells both of them getting in each other's faces.

How fucked up I am? "Do you need pills or something?" He asks looking back to me. "I- yes, there's a lot of them, herbs and stuff" I was hopeful. It honestly might be to late. "Urgh" he drags his hands over his face.

"I don't want to spend extra money if I don't have to, you're going to have to last longer" he grumbles as Ginny looks between the two of us. "Okay" I stammer watching Kingsley pull Ginny away.

They start to talk about me, as I finished my water. How fucked I am? How could someone love me when I'm like this? She's right, how could anyone love me. Maybe I should just let myself die. It would hurt though. It's always painful when I get sick.

"You're so fucking stubborn" she retorts as he takes a swig of his drink. "And you're a damn idiot!" He yells back as I stare at the two in fear. I didn't want them to take it out on me. I could feel another cough urging itself up my throat.

I close my eyes rethinking my options. As long as I don't leave they won't get mad... they won't get mad. I open my eyes clutching onto the cup tightly. I started for the kitchen door trying to be silent to unbothered the two who were now in a very heated argument.

"Asher!" The man shouts making me stop. I turn to him quickly my grip on the cup tightening by the second. "Y-yes" I manage to get something out.  "Where the fuck do you think you're going" he narrows his eyes tilting his head upwards.

"I-I just- I want some water... please" I look to him with frighten eyes. I watched his face soften and he used his finger to motion me over to him. I swallow nervously but walk over to him.

In a quick motion he has my neck and I drop the cup letting out a muffled cry. He squeezes tightly while I gasp for air. I could smell his breath, full of alcohol as he huffed heavily into my neck.

"Good boy, just got to make sure you're not leaving us" he laughs heavily before dropping me. I gasp for air falling to my hands and knees. "Kingsley don't be so rough on the poor boy, we just talked about his bruising- you dense idiot" she growls. I gag on the floor, one of theirs hands finding its way in my hair.

"He's a good boy" Ginny giggles as the hand pulls harshly at my hair making me stand. "Yes he is" Kingsley looks down at me his hand forcing my head back. "I just had to make sure he wasn't trying to get away" he repeats, kissing my forehead.

I cried silently as Ginny clapped aweing at us. "You're bonding" she cheers and he gives her a big sloppy smile before releasing me. I grab my throat letting my head fall forward. My scalp hurt from the tugging and I let my mouth hang open.

I could hear the giggling and looked back up to see the two close, hardly inches apart. He takes one last drink before setting his cup down. With that they start to make out and I quickly grab the cup from the ground stumbling back to my feet.

I coughed into my hand and wobbled towards the kitchen. Pushing the door open I hardly filled the cup halfway from how shaky my arm was. Turning off the faucet I sank to the floor, pressed against the drawers the handles pressing into my back making me shift uncomfortably.

"I thought I was getting on his good side" I whisper to myself shaking my head. If that's his good side... I take another drink. I rub a hand over my throat again trying to soothe the pain. I don't want to be on his good side anymore.

I don't know how much longer I can do this. I don't want to do this anymore. "Asher!" The women shouts and I look up in a panic, kneading my fist into my collarbone.

"Your boyfriend is here!"
