Beca and chloe had been dating for almost eight months as Christmas rolled around. They met at a coffee shop in LA, chloe worked as a school teacher and Beca was a bartender who also worked at the music store.

The two quickly got along and have never been happier. They had decided around the six month mark to move in with each other. They thought it would help save money since they both struggle a bit and since they were always at one another's homes they just decided to live together.

The two were laying in their bed just talking when chloe brought up Christmas.

"Can you believe Christmas will be in a few weeks?" She asked excitedly.

Beca chuckled as she stroked the girls head, "Two weeks to be exact. What are you doing for it?" Beca asked.

"Same as every year. All my family goes to my parents house and have this large fancy Christmas party and such." She said.

Chloe came from a very wealthy family but she didn't like to be handed things. She'd rather live life with a little bit of struggle then be handed everything.

"What are you going to do?" She asked.

"Probably the same as every other year. Just this year I'll have to adjust some things." Beca shrugged.

"What did you normally do?" Chloe asked curiously.

"Jesse and I would usually go out to the bar and get shitface drunk. Then at some point in the morning I'd stumble out of the bar with some random girl and go home with her. This year I'll probably do the same thing minus going home with a random girl." Beca told her.

"Why don't you come to Christmas with me?" Chloe asked, not really wanting to leave Beca to get drunk.

"Meet your family? Chlo I'm not sure." Beca said.

"Come on. I'd much rather you be with me then out at a bar getting shit faced." Chloe pleaded.

Beca looked at her for a moment before giving in. Chloe was excited but little did Beca know what she was going into.

The next day while Beca was at work chloe paced the floor of their kitchen. She had never told her family about her sexuality, especially not her relationship with Beca. She knew she was going to have to let her family know that Beca was coming along.

She dialed her mothers number and took a few deep breaths.

"Hello Dear." Her mother answered.

"Hey mom." Chloe said.

"What do I owe the pleasure of your call?" Her mother asked.

"I just wanted to inform you that someone is coming with me to Christmas this year." Chloe said.

"And what is there name?" Her mother asked curiously.

"Her name is Beca." Chloe told her.

"What is your relation to Beca? Is she a friend?" Her mother asked.

Chloe froze for a second.

"Beca is, she is my best friend. We also live together." Chloe answered, cringing slightly at her lie.

Technically she wasn't fully lying. Beca is her best friend and they do live together. She just forgot to mention they were romantically involved.

"How come Beca isn't going to her family for Christmas?" Her mom asked.

"Beca doesn't really have a family. She'd normally go get drunk on Christmas because she doesn't like it." Chloe explained.

"Very well. We can't wait to meet her." Her mom smiled.
