Small Town Breakups

Breaking up in a small town is one of the worst things to go through. Being accused of being a cheater is even worse. Everyone judges you, either vocal or in their mind.

Today was Beca's chance of getting out of this town. She was asked to preform a song before their small town bands concert. At the concert is a legit music producer who's looking for a new single artist.

As Beca stands back stage she feels all the nerves come up. Since her recent split with Chloe all she can write is love heartbreak songs.

Jimmy sees her nerves and walks up, "How you feeling Bec?" He asks.

"Like I'm gonna vomit. The entire town shows up to your concerts which means the whole Beale family is out there." She says.

"It's all gonna be fine. There not gonna be happy that your up there though. Nobody would be happy to see someone who hurt their family successful." He told her.

"I didn't cheat." Beca said.

"That pictures pretty real Bec." Jimmy said.

"I didn't cheat." She said handing him a paper.

He took it confused. When he read it he realized it was a drug test. Beca tested positive for having GHB in her system. She was drugged.

"That was taken the morning after the party. I was so confused when Chloe showed me a picture as she screamed and cried. Once she kicked me out I headed to the hospital because I never drink anything more then a couple of beers so I can go home to Chloe after. Waking up at Stacie's threw me off. I knew something was wrong so when that test came back positive I wasn't surprised. The only issue is her family won't let me near her to explain and they won't listen to me themselves." She sighed.

"We'll make sure she knows Beca. I'll help you. You two were perfect for each other. Everyone was shocked when it came out that you split because you cheated." He said.

"Trust me it was a shock to me too." Beca chuckled a bit.

"It's time to get this show started. Ready?" He asked.

"As I'll ever be." Beca sighed.

Jimmy headed out into the stage with his band mates and smiled.

"Hello everybody. Thank you all for coming out today. We're starting off this show a little different. A good friend of mine has always dreamed of working in music. She's very talented with the tracks and songs she produces so I decided to let her preform a song today for you all in hopes to get her recognized. Here's my good friend, Beca Mitchell." He introduced.

Beca heard a few claps and cheers but as she made it farther onto the stage she heard the boos from the Beale's.

"You don't deserve this chance you cheating piece of shit!" Mrs Beale yells from the back.

Beca takes a deep breathe before beginning to speak, "hello everyone. Most of you know me, I'm Beca Mitchell. Jimmy was nice enough to let me preform a song so this is called How Not To. Hope you enjoy." Beca took a nervous step back as the music began.

Beca looks around the field of people, smiling slightly when she saw her friends but quickly looked away when her eyes met the baby blues she can never stop thinking about.
