Fake it

Beca Mitchell has had many failed relationships in her life. It seemed to have gotten worse when she got famous. After her last girlfriend Hailey broke up with her just last week, she thinks it's time for a break.

Her label had other plans though.

Beca found herself walking through the halls of her studio on her usual day off wondering why her management team wanted her to come in. When she approached the meeting room she took a deep breath and entered.

"Beca! Nice of you to finally make it." Her manager Jenny spoke.

"Sorry Jen. I was out with Stacie since today is my day off. Traffic was a bitch getting back." Beca sighed as she sat.

Across the table she noticed actress Chloe Beale. The two locked eyes and Beca began to shake her head.

"Tell me you aren't doing what I think you are." Beca spoke.

"Beca Chloe's team and ours agreed that starting a fake relationship between you two would be great for publicity" Jenny spoke.

"No, no Jenny. Do you not remember what happened last time you tried to do this? I spent months trying to rebuild my reputation. I'm not about to risk the same thing, especially with Mrs Beale's reputation also being on the line." Beca protested.

"What happened last time?" Chloe asked curiously.

"They threw me into a fake relationship only a week after my breakup with Carly. Everyone began claiming I was a fuck girl and didn't ever truly love her. That I only liked to play girls. It was the farthest thing from the truth and it took forever for me to clean my name." Beca explained.

"That's awful." Chloe said sadly and Beca nodded.

"Yeah so I'm not doing this shit again." Beca said.

"We don't have to put any labels on anything. Just spend time together, go out to lunch or something. Get the fans wondering if two of their favorite celebrities are close." Jenny said.

"I'm not opposed to being friends with her but I swear to god if you start trying to push a fake relationship" Beca said annoyed.

"We won't." Jenny said.

"Great." Beca and chloe said together.

"Okay then. You two may go, see you later Beca." Jenny smiled and the two girls left.

"Wanna get lunch?" Beca asked the redhead as they approached the exit.

"Sure. I could use some food." Chloe smiled.

They both got into Beca's car and headed down to a small cafe on the corner. It was relatively quiet at this time so they were hoping nobody would recognize them and bring attention to them.

They arrived and ordered their lunch before finding a secluded booth in the back. The sat and talked, learning more about each other. They talked careers, hobbies, family, life before fame, life during fame, relationships, friendships and more. 

Beca learned Chloe has been acting since she was a teenager. She loved to sing and play music whenever she could. Her favorite color is blue and she has a dog named billie back at home where her parents are. She has two siblings, Chase and Layla and her parents are Cindy and Buddy Beale. Although Beca knew most of that information from the media, she enjoyed hearing it from Chloe. 

She also learned things she didn't know, like how the fame affected the way Chloe saw herself, leading to low self-esteem and sadly an eating disorder. Her friends had helped her through everything and she ended up over coming it all but every once and a while she'll have a moment where it comes back. She learned that Chloe feared failing and disappointing everyone.
