The cousins/story of my life

"You suck you know that?" Beca asked as she set up a few chairs after Tom pushed her into the rack.

"You love me lil cuz and you know it" he laughed.

"Stop calling me lil cuz it sounds weird." She said as she threw a towel at him.

"You want to fight right here right now" he challenged.

"Stop it Tom we need to finished setting up, I still don't think this will work by the way." Beca said turning towards the boy.

"It will. She was a sucker for 1D, especially this song. I know you'll be better for her then I was" he said sadly.

"I'm still mad at you for that you know. How the hell could you cheat on someone like Chloe?" She asked crossing her arms.

The boy sighed before taking a seat, motioning for Beca to do the same, "I didn't mean to, honestly. We were at a party and we were drunk. I bet she told you that she found me kissing another girl when she went to get a drink right?" Beca nodded and he continued, "that was only partly true. I was super drunk so my reflexes weren't that fast and my brain was slow. I was getting another drink when this girl pushed me against the wall and kissed me. It took me a minute before I realized what happened and I pushed her off. I felt horrible, when I couldn't find her I assumed she saw what happened and left to go see you, which I was right about. I wanted to fix it and get her to forgive me but I knew that I wasn't the best thing for her, you were. So I let her believe I did it on purpose so she'd breakup with me and so you could swoop in and save the day." He explained.

"Tom the way you would talk about her to me made me believe you really loved her. Why would you lose her for me?" She asked.

"Because I could see the way she looked at you and you looked at her. How her smile would brighten when your name was said, how she would gush about what you'd do for her or how you'd make sure she was good before yourself. I could do everything you did but it wouldn't put a smile on her face the way you do. They say if you love her let her go, I'm letting her go." He smiled softly.

"I'll treat her right bro, I promise." She said as she set her hand on top of his.

"I know you will." He smiled.

They got up and continued setting up before Beca teased him and they ended up in a wrestling match. Neither hearing the auditorium door open.

"Hey Chlo did you know Beca and Tom were friends?" Stacie asked as she caught up with the two.

"Wait I thought the hobbit hated him?" Aubrey asked confused.

"Bree stop calling her a hobbit. And she never said she hated him she just hated when he made me sad." Chloe explained.

"Still did you know they were friends?" Stacie asked again.

"They aren't. Beca told me that." Chloe said as they continued walking.

"Well she lied because I saw them having lunch at the café and they seemed pretty happy. Beca was smiling, I never see her smile unless she's with you." Stacie said.

"Why would she lie to me?" Chloe asked confused.

"Maybe they got together and didn't want you to know." Aubrey said earning a smack from Stacie, "Ow!"

"Don't say that! We all know the midget has a thing for Beale" Stacie said as if Chloe wasn't right next to her.

"You're both crazy. I don't believe either of you." She said pushing the door to the auditorium open.
