Chloe Beale loves collage life. Her and a few of her best friends from high school, Aubrey and Stacie, all went to Barden University after graduation.
She needed the move. Granted it wasn't that far from her hometown, it was far enough from her heartbreak.
Tonight was a big party being thrown by the treble makers. Her new friend Jesse invited her along with her fellow Bella's. He said it was "the awesomest party to ever go to" so she's a bit excited.
They got ready and headed out. When they arrived there was a great amount of people already there and already hammered. They quickly joined in waiting to find Jesse and the rest of the trebles.
"This party is awesome!" Stacie exclaimed taking another swig of her drink.
"Where's Jesse?" Aubrey asked scanning the room.
"Oh! Over there!" Chloe exclaims pointing.
The three girls got his attention and he made his way over.
"Hey guys" he smiled, "enjoying the party?" He asked.
"Duh" Chloe giggled.
"You waiting on someone?" Aubrey asked as she noticed the boy continuing to scan the room.
"Yeah I met this girl the other week at the music festival and she doesn't live far so I invited her. She seems pretty cool." He smiled
"Oh? Does Jesse have a crush?" Stacie teased and the boy blushed.
"No, we just bonded over music. I'm pretty sure she's gay but I mean if I get the chance I'll take it" he laughed.
Thirty minutes later he disappeared and brought back the girl he was talking about. Chloe and Aubrey were dancing and didn't see them walk up.
When Chloe turned around her heart stopped.
"Guys this is the girl I mentioned, Beca." He smiled bringing her up.
Beca chuckled a bit at the other girls faces, both in shock.
"Jess I already know them, we went to high school together." Beca said with a smile.
"Oh really?! Small world." He chuckled.
"Hey Chlo, how are you?" Beca asked.
"No. You don't get to ask that. You don't get to be here!" Chloe exclaimed
"Woah Chlo you okay?" Jesse asked. Taken off guard.
"Jesse she destroyed my heart." Chloe choked out.
"I didn't destroy it. We ended on okay terms." Beca defended.
"No we didn't. You ended on okay terms. My heart got ripped out. You left me for the industry." Chloe said, now getting angry.
"I asked if you would be okay with a break, I didn't just end it out of nowhere." Beca said.
"That was out of nowhere! You came to me a day after graduation and said 'The industry thinks I'd be better off single to start. Since we'll be apart I think we should end things' and just made the decision for me. Didn't even let me argue it. I loved you more than anything and you just left me like that." Chloe said, eyes beginning to water.
"I was saving us the heartbreak later on, you know long distance doesn't work. We would've ended eventually. I believed if we were meant to be we'd come back to each other." Beca said, trying to reach out and grab her hand.
Chloe snatched her hand away and glared, "You don't know that. We could've worked." Chloe said, tears now flowing.
"I'm sorry. Your mom said you'd understand." Beca sighed.
"Why do you talk to my mom?" Chloe asked angry again.
"I talk to your whole family. They became mine too." Beca said.
"I can't believe you." Chloe shook her head, "I'm done. Never talk to me again. Or my family." Chloe spat and stormed away. Aubrey and Stacie close behind her.
Days passed and Beca tried a few more times to talk to the redhead but she just ignored her.
Beca got drunk a few nights and called her, leaving a miss you voicemail that Chloe immediately deleted. She apparently also asked Jesse if Chloe was seeing anybody and how singing was going for her.
She got her feeling out with a song, something Beca taught her. She's annoyed she still uses it because it reminds her of the brunette but it helps more than anything else.
She never planed to sing it but when Beca showed up with Jesse at a Bella's practice and tried talking to her again she decided to sing it.
My spare time and my spare key
Don't go to your front door
And I don't keep that old Jeep
In your driveway anymore
And my toothbrush ain't on your bathroom sink
Haven't been to your side of town in weeks
You're the reason this thing broke
So you should already knowIt ain't your place to walk up, say hey
Ask how I've been at some party
It ain't your place to ask my friends
When you see 'em out if I'm seeing somebody
You don't get to call me up 'cause you're drunk
2 AM, say you miss us
Nah, you don't get to care where I'm waking up these days
It ain't your placeShe looked over and saw Beca's sad face, feeling slightly bad she kept going. Hoping to finally get the message across.
Don't reach out to my family
When their birthdays come around
And don't act like you're happy
For me when a dream works out
If I met someone or if I didn't
Honestly, it's none of your business anyway
'Cause at the end of the dayIt ain't your place to walk up, say hey
Ask how I've been at some party
It ain't your place to ask my friends
When you see 'em out if I'm seeing somebody
You don't get to call me up 'cause you're drunk
2 AM, say you miss us
Nah, you don't get to care where I'm waking up these days
It ain't your place
No, it ain't your place
NoDon't say "come over", don't swear that you're different
You made your bed and I ain't sleeping in itIt ain't your place to walk up, say hey
Ask how I've been at some party
It ain't your place to ask my friends
When you see 'em out if I'm seeing somebody
You don't get to call me up 'cause you're drunk
2 AM, say you miss us
Nah, you don't get to care where I'm waking up these days
It ain't your place
It ain't your place"So there's no chance huh?" Beca asked, the sadness present in her voice.
"No Beca there's not. You threw us away like it was nothing. I can't do that again." Chloe said.
"Got it. I'm sorry you know. I didn't think you saw it like that. I truly just thought it was what was best for us at the time. I really did love you Chlo, still do. I'd do anything for you. Even if it means never seeing you again." Beca said and Chloe's heart broke slightly again.
"I appreciate your honesty. I still need time from you. Maybe one day we can be friends again but not right now. It still hurts to much." Chloe sighed.
"Okay, well I'll see you around hopefully. Good luck with everything." Beca said before getting up and leaving.
Once the brunette was out the door Chloe collapsed in tears. Stacie ran to hold her and support the redhead.
"Shh it's okay." Stacie whispered.
"I love her so much." Chloe cried, "but it hurts so bad."
"I know honey. I know." Stacie said rocking the redhead.
