Beca Mitchell is a famous music producer slash artist who has been crushing the industry for the past five years. The only problem? Beca gave up her family for this chance.

Beca grew up in a small town, not many people came and went. They had a population of maybe thirty people the last time she was there. She grew up with her parents, Ben and Jamie Mitchell, along with her older brother Thomas Mitchell.

She was best friends with Jesse Swanson and Stacie Conrad. The rest of her friend group consist of Amy Hobart, Emily Junk, Aubrey Posen, her brothers best friend Chicago Walp, and finally her past girlfriend Chloe Beale.

Beca wishes she never gave them up for fame. She missed them all greatly but never showed her face. She's been keeping tab on them from the distance and wishes she could just go speak to them again. The only one she talked to was her brother who managed to get them all to come to Beca's concert only thirty minutes from their hometown.

Two weeks earlier, Tom with the gang.

"So guys I've got something to ask you." Tom speaks as he approaches the group.

"What's up?" Stacie asked as she turned towards the man.

"So Beca called." He said hearing Aubrey huff beside him.

"Before you all get mad at her listen to me. She's performing a show about thirty minutes from here and wants you all to come. She wants to be able to explain what happened and why she disappeared the way she did." Tom said.

"She's had five years to reach out and explain." Emily said.

"Beca wanted to tell you guys herself but I'm going to tell you anyways. Beca's management team was toxic, is toxic. They didn't let her leave after her initial summer in LA. They wouldn't let her reach out to you guys to explain or anything. She tried multiple times to reach out or to come back but they stopped her every time. All she wants is a chance to explain and make it up to you guys. Come to the concert. She wrote a song about us, about here." He said.

It took some time but soon each person agreed. They didn't say they'd forgive her but they'd at least try and listen to what she has to say.

Present

The time came for Beca to preform her last song. Tom got her permission from the others to show pictures as well during the song which she was excited for.

"This last song is called castle on a hill and it's for my friends and family from my hometown. I made a mistake leaving you guys five years ago and I hope I can make it up to you now." She said before the music began.

When I was six years old, I broke my leg

She smiled as a picture of her six year old self with Tom and Chicago popped onto the screen. It was her on the two boys shoulders with a cast on her right leg. They were all smiling as Tom held her crutches up in the air.

I was running from my brother and his friends
And tasted the sweet perfume of the mountain grass I rolled down
I was younger then, take me back to when I

Found my heart and broke it here
Made friends and lost them through the years
And I've not seen the roaring fields in so long
I know I've grown, but I can't wait to go home

Beca closed her eyes and really got into the chorus.

Each of her friends had sad smiles on their faces as pictures of their teenage years rolled across the screen.

I'm on my way
Driving at 90 down those country lanes
Singing to Tiny Dancer
And I miss the way you make me feel, and it's real
When we watched the sunset over the castle on the hill
