Eleanor woke up late Sunday morning to an empty dorm room and a rumbling stomach, so long for breakfast. She rubbed her eyes and groggily made her way over to the bathroom not bothering to shut the door behind her. Drawing the bath she peeled off her dads jumper and climbed in, the temperature of the water scorched through her sending tingles along her skin, just the way she liked it.
She sunk down the tub letting the water absorb her body until only her head was visible above the surface and closed her eyes.
When she opened them again she realises the bath water had gone cold and the bubbles had dissolved into the water, tainting it white. Eleanor reached over the side grabbing the towel off the rack and wrapped it round her body as she stepped out. Her skin smelt like Jasmin. She used a drying spell on her hair whilst brushing through the knots, till it lay straight against her back.
Eleanor left the bathroom and yanked a jumper over head head not forgetting to pick up the small package and place it in the front pocket. She pulled on a pair of jeans placing her wand in her back pocket and headed towards the common room. When she reached the top of the stairs, she noticed the Slytherins huddled round the sofas arguing over wizard chess. They don't seem to be capable of doing anything else.
"Ah Eleanor, how nice of you to finally get out of bed and join us!" Blaise lightly said patting the armrest next to him.
"Fuck off." She grumbled taking a seat, "What's going on with those two?"
"Pucey and Crabbe have been in a heated chess battle for the last half hour." He replied throwing his head against the back of the sofa, clearly fed up.
"Dear christ."
Blaise rolled his eyes, "Tell me about it."
"Wanna game Elle?" Daphne asked lifting her head off Pansys shoulder.
"As fun as that sounds, I'm meeting Hermione in the great hall."
Dracos face screwed up in disgust as his lip snarled. "Granger?" he spat.
Here we go. "Yes Granger, I thought you would've heard of her by now." She replied flatly.
"You're friends with the Mudblood?" Pansy hissed, turning to face Eleanor as everyone else became silent.
Eleanors face fell. "What?" She said in disbelief, did she hear her correctly.
"Pansy!" Daphne exclaimed, covering her mouth at the curse word.
"I can't believe you just said that." Blaise says, shaking his head as he lift it off the back of the sofa.
"Come on, I just said what were all thinking!" she snapped, earning a small nods from Draco and Goyle. "She's Potters Mudblood, a muggleborn."
"You can't be serious." Eleanor harshly snapped rolling her eyes and standing from the sofa. "Nobody believes in that stuff anymore!"
"I actually wasn't thinking it" Adrian said slowly, raising his hand in the air and looking round the group aimlessly. "If anyone cares."
Theo patted Adrian on the shoulder as he lowered his hand, when no one acknowledged him. "Nows not the time."
Pansys lips turned into a frown to match Dracos. "Come on Eleanor, you're a Gray! One of the wealthiest pureblood families, you can't associate with likes of her."
In fact her parents had taught her about blood supremacy, it was always important to them that Eleanor would grow up married into a wealthy pureblood family, probably the other reason they were so happy she was sorted into Slytherin. With perfect potential husbands like Draco Malfoy, what more could they possibly want.
