"Won't someone catch us?"
"No." Eleanor murmured, poking her head around the alcove of the common room and finding it empty. "Everyone's at the Slytherin and Hufflepuff game, like I said."
She had to take one last look to make sure that was true before she waltzed into the Slytherin common room with her Ravenclaw boyfriend, the literal home of the nark squad and Umbridges favourite pets. Who she bet would have a joyous time punishing Eleanor if she were ever to find out. It's a given fact that she's the only Slytherin student Umbridge doesn't like.
It's also not that her friends didn't like him and would snitch if they saw him, it's everyone else she had to worry about. Well saying that made her think otherwise, Pansy was only tolerable with him because Rodger happened to be a pureblood. Crabbe and Goyle weren't that fond of him either as he wasn't a fellow Slytherin and had the girls swooning over him instead of them. Like they had a chance with any of them anyway. Then that left Draco, he had a tendency to dislike anything that made Eleanor happy. But apart from those four, the rest seemed happy for her.
Rodger was pulled through the entryway and down the stairs within a second, his head almost hitting the low slate on his journey through. "Although I'm not complaining in the slightest, I thought you said to Ty you'd watch their game." Eleanor stopped to roll her eyes at him. "You promi-"
"I can catch the next one." She interrupts with a vacant stare, listening out for any sounds that may appear but as she suspected you could hear a pin drop. "This is possibly the only time I'll have the whole place to myself. Besides it's just not the same without Cedric on the pitch with them."
It was the first quidditch game back after the Christmas break, which meant everyone had gone to the match whilst Eleanor pretended to come down with a terrible case of high fever so she and Rodger could spend some proper time alone. After all it was the first time she'd properly seen him after they returned with Hogwarts earlier this week. He'd either been too busy with prefect duty's or studying for his newts to come see her.
"Merlin." Rodger let's put a half gasp as he wonders down the step stone steps and into the main living quarter. "This place is.."
"Spooky? Gloomy? Haunted?" Eleanor suggests, staring into the face of her spaced out boyfriend who seemed hypnotised by her houses common room. She'd been lucky to venture into all the houses common rooms and couldn't help but brag hers was the most impressive.
"Cold." He responds to her dismay, his eyes glued to the skull incased above the fireplace with a look of confusion. Potential worry maybe.
"What? Never seen a skull before?" Eleanor half laughs looking at his horror struck face, "Surely you've heard about this all many times before."
"You're joking? I mean I've heard rumours but I didn't think them to be true." Rodger says, running his hand along the leather of the sofas. Eleanor half suspected he was feeling to see if they were real. "No student from another house has ever stepped foot into Slytherin common room. Being serious I don't know anyone who has successfully managed to get in."
"I didn't know this place was such a hotspot for other students to break into." She responds, brushing her hand gently across his cheek to draw his full attention back onto her. "I guess you're just one of the lucky ones."
Rodgers leans down gently pressing his lips against hers, his brown hair tickling across Eleanor's forehead as he moves. "I guess I am." He said with a smile as a small giggle fell from Eleanor mouth.
With that smile still spread across her face Eleanor half dragged Rodger the rest of the way towards her dorm. She wasn't about to waste any more of this opportunity for them to have the whole place to themselves. Especially after the two weeks she'd had separated from him but as the saying gos, absence makes the heart grow bigger or fonder. Shes pretty sure that's what Hermione says.
